JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title : Lab Chemist
Department : Laboratory
Reports To: Lab Manager

Job Summary :
The Lab Chemist is responsible for conducting chemical analyses and laboratory tests to
regulatory compliance. The role involves handling laboratory instruments, preparing
chemical solutions, and accurately recording test results.

Key Responsibilities:
 Perform routine chemical tests on water samples.
 Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments
 Ensure daily calibration of instruments and maintain calibration records.
 Prepare standard solutions and reagents as per WIs.
 Maintain proper documentation of all test results and ensure traceability.
 Follow Positive Laboratory Practices (GLP) and safety procedures at all times.
 Support investigations of non-conformities and deviations.




 Ensure timely reporting of test results to relevant person.
 Maintain cleanliness and order in the lab area.

Required Qualifications:
Education: B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or related field.
Experience: 0–1 years of laboratory experience

Skills:
Knowledge of wet chemistry techniques
Familiarity with instruments like pH meter, conductivity meter, etc.
Good documentation and analytical skills
Ability to follow WIs and work under minimal supervision

Work Setting:
Use of PPE (gloves, lab coat, goggles) required
May involve standing for extended periods
