Key Responsibilities in Cable Manufacturing
Installation & Commissioning
Assemble and install cable extrusion machines, stranding machines, and winding equipment.
Align and calibrate rotating machinery (motors, pumps, conveyors) to ensure smooth operation.
Maintenance & Repair
Conduct routine inspections of bearings, shafts, gears, and couplings.
Diagnose faults in hydraulic/pneumatic systems and repair or replace defective parts.
Perform lubrication, component replacement, and adjustments to prevent breakdowns.
Fabrication & Modification
Use lathes, milling machines, and grinders to fabricate or repair custom parts.
Modify mechanical systems to improve efficiency or adapt to recent cable designs.
Safety & Compliance
Follow strict safety protocols during rigging, lifting, and heavy equipment handling.
Participate in risk assessments and ensure compliance with plant safety standards.
Documentation
Maintain detailed records of maintenance schedules, repairs, and equipment performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs;, and schematics.




Proficiency with precision instruments (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, laser alignment tools).
Knowledge of pumps, piping systems, valves, and material handling equipment.
Education & Training
ITI/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Certifications in rigging, welding, or hydraulic systems are advantageous.
Soft Skills
Robust problem-solving ability and quick fault diagnosis.
Team collaboration with production and electrical departments.
Commitment to safety and housekeeping standards.
