Prepare the cathlab, sterile trolley, instruments, and procedure-specific equipment.
Perform surgical hand scrub and maintain strict aseptic/sterile technique.
Prepare and arrange sterile instruments, drapes, gowns, gloves, syringes, and other supplies.
Coronary angiography
PTCA/PCI and stent placement
Temporary/permanent pacemaker procedures
Peripheral angiography/interventions
Other interventional cardiac procedures
Pass instruments, guidewires, catheters, balloons, stents, and other devices to the cardiologist.
Prepare and handle contrast media and sterile solutions according to hospital protocol.
Anticipate the operator's requirements and maintain effective instrument flow.
Maintain accurate instrument, sponge, needle, and device counts.
Assist with specimen handling and labeling when required.




Monitor the sterile field and immediately correct any breach of aseptic technique.
Assist with emergency procedures and cardiac resuscitation when required.
Ensure proper cleaning, disinfection, and turnover of the cathlab after procedures.
Check availability and expiry dates of sterile supplies, implants, and emergency equipment.
Follow radiation-safety, infection-control, biomedical-waste, and hospital policies.
Document procedure-related nursing activities as required.
