An Accounting Faculty (Practical Accounting) is responsible for providing hands-on training in accounting concepts, real-world accounting practices, and popular accounting software. The role focuses on making students job-ready by combining theoretical knowledge with practical applications used in businesses and accounting firms.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Teach practical accounting concepts including:
Journal entries, ledger posting, and trial balance
Final accounts (P&L;, Balance Sheet)
GST, VAT, and basic taxation
Payroll processing and bank reconciliation
Provide hands-on training using real business case studies
Train students on popular accounting software, such as:
Tally (Prime) Peach Tree GCC VAT GST Filing
QuickBooks
Busy Accounting Software
Zoho Books
SAP FICO (basic knowledge preferred)
MS Excel for Accounting (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, reports)
Guide students in preparing:
Invoices, vouchers, and financial reports
GST returns and compliance reports
Evaluate student performance through practical tests and assignments
Support students with job-oriented skills and interview preparation
Update course content according to latest accounting rules and software updates
Maintain student records, attendance, and progress reports
Required Skills & Knowledge:
Robust practical knowledge of manual and computerized accounting
Expertise in accounting software used in industry
Ability to explain accounting concepts in a simple, practical manner
Valuable communication and classroom management skills
Problem-solving and analytical skills
Qualifications & Experience:
Master Degree Accounting, Commerce, or Finance
Certification in Tally / GST / Practical Accounting (preferred)
