Education: Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
Role & responsibilities
Perform inspections on hull and structural components, including raw materials, welds, assemblies, and final structures, ensuring adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and regulatory codes (such as ISO, IACS standards).
Monitor welding activities, check for welding defects, and verify adherence to welding procedure specifications (WPS) and qualified welder performance (WPQ).
Identify recurring quality issues, root causes, and suggest corrective and preventive actions to mitigate defects in hull and structural production.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols related to quality control activities, particularly for high-risk tasks such as welding and heavy structural handling
Preferred candidate profile
Certification in welding inspection (e.g., AWS Certified Welding Inspector, CSWIP)
ASNT level II in RT, UT, MPT and DPT
