About the Role

We are looking for a high-impact Vice President – Lending to lead and scale our Merchant Lending business. This role is responsible for driving large-volume sales, merchant acquisition, lending growth, and revenue through an extensive field sales network.

The incumbent will own business performance across multiple geographies and lead a large, multi-tier sales organization to deliver aggressive growth targets.

Key Responsibilities / KRAs

- Own end-to-end sales performance and business growth for the Merchant Lending portfolio across assigned geographies.
- Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual business targets across merchant onboarding, loan sourcing, loan disbursements, revenue, and portfolio growth.
- Lead, mentor, and scale a large field sales organization comprising Area Managers, Team Leaders, and Sales Executives.
- Drive high-volume loan sourcing by improving merchant activation, sales productivity, and conversion across every stage of the lending funnel.
- Monitor daily business numbers, sales productivity, conversion ratios, disbursement volumes, and revenue through structured governance and performance reviews.
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies to accelerate business growth, improve market share, and outperform competition.
- Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing sales leaders while building a solid performance-driven culture focused on execution and accountability.
- Ensure adherence to all compliance, audit, operational,



and regulatory requirements without compromising business velocity.
- Work closely with Credit, Risk, Operations, Collections, Product, Finance, and other key stakeholders to ensure sustainable business growth and portfolio quality.
- Identify new markets, channels, and business opportunities to expand the Merchant Lending portfolio.
- Drive business profitability, operational efficiency, and overall lending performance across assigned geographies.
- Provide regular business updates, strategic insights, and growth plans to the Chief Business Officer and senior leadership.

Desired Candidate Profile

- 15+ years of experience in leading large retail sales or lending businesses within Merchant Lending, SME Lending, Business Loans, Fintech, Banking, or NBFCs.
- Proven track record of managing businesses with high monthly loan disbursement volumes and leading large distributed field sales teams.
- Strong expertise in merchant acquisition, retail distribution, sales strategy, channel management, and revenue growth.
- Demonstrated success in scaling businesses, entering new markets, and consistently exceeding ambitious sales targets.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to drive business numbers, profitability, and operational excellence.
- Experience in managing large, multi-layered sales organizations across multiple geographies.
- Strong understanding of lending business metrics, sales productivity, portfolio growth, and business profitability.
- Exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, negotiation, and business planning skills.
- Strong ability to recruit, develop, and retain high-performing sales leadership teams.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment with extensive travel across assigned markets.
- Strong strategic thinking combined with hands-on execution capability.
