Head of Accounts – CA Qualified

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and CA-qualified Head of Accounts to lead and oversee the organization's complete accounting and finance function.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, accounting operations, taxation, statutory compliance, audits, cash flow management, budgeting, MIS, internal controls, and financial planning. The candidate should have strong leadership skills and the ability to work closely with senior management to support business and financial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities1. Accounting & Financial Management
- Oversee the complete accounting function and ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
- Review and monitor General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Bank Reconciliation, and other accounting activities.
- Ensure proper accounting practices and adherence to applicable accounting standards.
- Review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure timely closure of books of accounts.
2. Taxation & Statutory Compliance
- Oversee GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other applicable statutory compliances.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of statutory returns.
- Review tax calculations, reconciliations, and related documentation.
- Coordinate with tax consultants and external professionals whenever required.
- Monitor changes in taxation laws and ensure appropriate implementation.
3. Audit & Internal Controls
- Manage statutory, internal, tax, and other financial audits.
- Coordinate with auditors and ensure timely submission of required information and documents.
- Establish and strengthen internal financial controls and accounting processes.
- Identify financial risks and implement appropriate control measures.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial procedures.
4. MIS & Management Reporting
- Prepare and review monthly MIS, financial reports, profitability reports, cash flow statements, and management reports.
- Provide meaningful financial analysis and insights to senior management.
- Monitor revenue, expenses, margins, working capital, and other key financial indicators.
- Support management in financial decision-making through accurate and timely reports.
5. Budgeting & Financial Planning
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
- Monitor actual performance against budgets and analyze variances.
- Provide recommendations to improve cost efficiency and profitability.
- Assist senior management in financial planning and business strategy.
6. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management
- Monitor daily and monthly cash flow requirements.
- Manage working capital effectively, including receivables, payables, inventory, and cash balances.
- Monitor customer outstanding and payment collections.
- Review supplier payments and payment schedules.
- Ensure optimum utilization of available funds.
7. Team Management
- Lead, manage, and develop the Accounts & Finance team.
- Allocate responsibilities and monitor team performance.
- Review the work of accounting team members and ensure accuracy.
- Train and mentor team members on accounting processes, compliance, and internal procedures.
- Establish clear processes and accountability within the Accounts department.
8. Process Improvement & Systems
- Review existing accounting and finance processes and identify areas for improvement.
- Implement appropriate controls, automation, and process efficiencies.
- Ensure effective utilization of accounting and ERP systems.
- Maintain accurate and secure financial records.
9. Business & Management Support
- Work closely with senior management on financial and commercial matters.
- Provide financial analysis for business decisions, investments, expenses,
and profitability.
- Identify financial risks and provide recommendations to management.
- Support business expansion and strategic initiatives from a financial perspective.
Qualification & Experience
- Chartered Accountant (CA) – Mandatory.
- 7–12 years of relevant experience in Accounts & Finance.
- Solid experience in financial accounting, taxation, GST, audits, MIS, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Experience in managing and leading an Accounts & Finance team.
- Strong knowledge of applicable accounting standards and statutory regulations.
- Experience with ERP/accounting software and advanced MS Excel.
- Experience in a manufacturing, trading, distribution, or similar business environment will be an advantage.
