Salary
₹20,000 – ₹25,000 per month
Performance Incentive
Up to ₹5,000 per month based on:
- Breakdown response time
- Quality of repairs
- Zero repeat failures
- Preventive maintenance compliance
- Vehicle uptime
Job Purpose
To maintain and repair the company's fleet of heavy commercial vehicles and earthmoving equipment, ensuring maximum uptime, minimum breakdowns, and safe operation.
Equipment to be Maintained
- 16 Tippers
- 3 Poclains
- 1 Loader
- Other fleet equipment assigned by management
Key ResponsibilitiesPreventive Maintenance
- Carry out scheduled servicing of all fleet vehicles.
- Change engine oil, gearbox oil, differential oil and hydraulic oil as per schedule.
- Replace filters, belts and hoses on time.
- Perform greasing and lubrication of all equipment.
Breakdown Maintenance
- Attend vehicle breakdowns immediately.
- Diagnose faults quickly and accurately.
- Repair vehicles at site whenever possible.
- Minimize vehicle downtime.
Mechanical Repairs
- Engine repairs
- Clutch repairs
- Gearbox repairs
- Differential repairs
- Brake system repairs
- Suspension repairs
- Steering system repairs
- Propeller shaft repairs
- Cooling system maintenance
- Fuel system repairs
Daily Inspection
Inspect every assigned vehicle for:
- Engine oil
- Coolant
- Hydraulic oil
- Air pressure
- Brake performance
- Leakages
- Battery condition
- Lights
- Tyres
- Fasteners and mountings
Coordination
- Coordinate with Fleet Supervisors and drivers.
- Report major defects immediately.
- Guide assistant mechanics during repairs.
Workshop Responsibilities
- Maintain tools properly.
- Keep workshop clean and organised.
- Ensure safe working practices.
- Reduce wastage of spare parts and consumables.
Documentation
Maintain records of:
- Repair work completed
- Spare parts used
- Breakdown details
- Service completion
- Daily maintenance activities
Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of heavy diesel engines.
- Experience with tippers, Poclains and loaders.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical faults independently.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems.
- Ability to perform field repairs.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
Experience
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in maintenance of heavy commercial vehicles, mining equipment or construction machinery.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Vehicle uptime above company target.
- Minimum repeat breakdowns.
- Timely completion of preventive maintenance.
- Fast response to breakdowns.
- Proper use of spare parts.
- High-quality repairs with minimal rework.
- Compliance with workshop safety standards.
Working Hours
- 8–10 hours per day, six days a week.
- Must be available for emergency breakdown support whenever required.
Company Expectations
- Ensure vehicles are fit for operation every day.
- Treat company tools, equipment and spare parts responsibly.
- Support uninterrupted mining and crusher operations by keeping the fleet operational with minimum downtime.
