Job Description – Capsule Operator

Designation: Capsule Operator

Reporting To: Production Supervisor / Production Manager

Job Purpose

To operate and monitor capsule filling and related production equipment in compliance with GMP, SOPs, safety requirements, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate capsule filling machines as per approved SOPs and BMR/BPR.
- Perform machine setup, changeover, and cleaning.
- Ensure correct filling weight and capsule quality during production.
- Monitor machine parameters and production output.
- Perform in-process checks and record observations.
- Handle empty capsules, granules/powders, and other production materials properly.
- Maintain accurate production and equipment records.
- Report machine breakdowns, deviations, or quality issues to the supervisor.
- Coordinate with QA, QC, Engineering, and Warehouse departments.
- Follow line clearance procedures before starting production.




- Ensure proper cleaning and sanitization of equipment and production areas.
- Follow GMP, GDP, EHS, and company safety procedures.
- Avoid mix-ups and cross-contamination during manufacturing.
- Participate in training, audits, and continuous improvement activities.

Qualification

- Diploma / ITI / B.Sc. / B.Pharm / D.Pharm or relevant qualification.

Experience

- 1–5 years of experience in pharmaceutical capsule manufacturing.
- Freshers may also be considered for junior positions.

Required Skills

- Knowledge of capsule filling machines.
- Understanding of GMP, SOP, GDP, and pharmaceutical documentation.
- Knowledge of line clearance and in-process checks.
- Basic troubleshooting skills.
- Positive communication and teamwork skills.

Pay: ₹16,143.86 - ₹29,897.77 per month
