The Assistant Professor of Economics will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching in Economics subjects prescribed under the Law curriculum, supporting academic excellence, mentoring students, contributing to research and institutional activities, and ensuring effective implementation of the academic policies of Harsha School of Law.

Roles and responsibilities

Teaching & Academic Responsibilities

- Deliver undergraduate Economics courses for Law students as per the approved curriculum and university syllabus.
- Prepare lesson plans, lecture notes, presentations, and teaching-learning materials.
- Conduct interactive classroom teaching using cutting-edge and student-centric teaching methodologies.
- Handle tutorials, discussions, remedial classes, and academic support sessions whenever required.
- Ensure timely completion of the syllabus within the academic calendar.
- Integrate contemporary economic concepts relevant to legal studies wherever applicable.

Student Assessment & Mentoring

- Prepare internal assessment question papers, assignments, case-based exercises, and evaluation materials.
- Evaluate answer scripts, assignments, presentations, and maintain academic records accurately.
- Provide constructive feedback to students for improving academic performance.
- Mentor and guide students in academic, professional, and career development.




- Identify slow learners and advanced learners and provide appropriate academic guidance.

Research & Faculty Development

- Engage in research, publications, seminars, conferences, workshops, and faculty development programmes.
- Encourage interdisciplinary research connecting Economics, Law, Public Policy, and Social Sciences.
- Contribute to institutional research initiatives and academic publications.
- Maintain continuous professional development in the field of Economics and legal education.

Department & Institutional Responsibilities

- Participate in departmental meetings, academic planning, and curriculum implementation.
- Assist the Principal and academic committees in accreditation, documentation, and quality assurance activities.
- Support the organization of guest lectures, seminars, workshops, moot-related interdisciplinary sessions, and academic events.
- Maintain discipline, punctuality, professionalism, and adherence to institutional policies.
- Undertake examination duties, invigilation, valuation, admissions, counselling, and other responsibilities assigned by the Management or Principal.
- Coordinate effectively with faculty members across departments for institutional academic activities.

Administrative responsibilities

- Maintain attendance, academic records, lesson plans, and course files.




- Submit reports and academic documentation within prescribed timelines.
- Comply with university, regulatory authority, and institutional academic requirements.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the Principal or Management in the interest of the Institution.

Required qualifications

- Master's Degree in Economics from a recognized university with consistently good academic performance.
- NET/SLET/SET qualification as per applicable regulatory norms is preferred.
- Ph.D. in Economics is desirable and will be an added advantage.
- Teaching experience in higher education, preferably in Law or interdisciplinary programmes, is preferred.

Required skills & competencies

- Solid subject knowledge in Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Public Economics, Development Economics, and Indian Economy.
- Excellent teaching, presentation, and classroom management skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication in English.
- Ability to mentor and motivate students.
- Research aptitude and academic writing skills.
- Proficiency in using digital teaching tools, LMS, MS Office, and presentation software.
- Commitment to professional ethics, teamwork, and institutional values.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
