ACCOUNTANT & ACCOUNTS EXECUTIVE

About the Role
Rarefiction Media is looking for a responsible and detail-oriented Accountant / Accounts Executive to take complete ownership of the company's day-to-day accounting and financial operations.
The candidate will be responsible for maintaining accounts, bookkeeping, invoices, payments, bank reconciliation, payroll support, GST/TDS compliance, financial records, internal audits, and overall accounts management.
The ideal candidate should be organized, trustworthy, accurate, and capable of identifying financial discrepancies and ensuring that company accounts are properly maintained.
Key Responsibilities1. Day-to-Day Accounting
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date company books of accounts.
- Record daily income, expenses, purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
- Maintain proper documentation and supporting records for all financial transactions.
- Track accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Prepare and maintain invoices, bills, vouchers, and payment records.
- Monitor outstanding payments and receivables.
- Ensure all accounting entries are accurate and properly categorized.
2. Bank & Financial Reconciliation
- Perform regular bank reconciliation.
- Reconcile cash, bank, vendor, and customer accounts.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
- Maintain petty cash and cash transaction records.
- Track company expenses and reimbursements.
3. GST, TDS & Statutory Compliance
- Assist with GST-related accounting and compliance activities.
- Maintain GST invoices and supporting documentation.
- Handle TDS calculations, deductions, and records.
- Coordinate with external CA/auditors for tax filings and compliance.
- Ensure financial records are maintained properly for statutory requirements.
- Keep track of important compliance deadlines.
4. Accounts Audit & Verification
- Conduct regular internal checking of company accounts.
- Verify invoices,
bills, vouchers, expenses, and supporting documents.
- Identify accounting errors, discrepancies, duplicate entries, or unusual transactions.
- Prepare documents and reports required for audits.
- Coordinate with external Chartered Accountants and auditors.
- Ensure audit observations are addressed and records are corrected where required.
5. Payroll & Employee Accounts Support
- Assist HR with monthly payroll processing.
- Verify attendance, salary inputs, deductions, reimbursements, and other payroll-related information.
- Maintain employee salary and payment records.
- Support preparation of salary statements and payslip-related financial data.
6. Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly income and expense reports.
- Prepare cash-flow and outstanding payment reports.
- Provide management with regular financial summaries.
- Track budgets and major business expenses.
- Assist management in understanding financial performance and expenditure.
- Maintain accurate records for management decision-making.
7. Vendor & Client Accounts
- Maintain vendor and client ledgers.
- Verify vendor invoices before payment processing.
- Track client receivables and pending payments.
- Follow up internally on outstanding invoices.
- Maintain proper documentation for vendor and client transactions.
Accounting Software & Tools
The candidate should have practical knowledge of:
- Tally Prime / Tally ERP
- MS Excel / Google Sheets
- Accounting and invoicing software
- Basic knowledge of GST portals
- Basic knowledge of banking and online payment systems
Knowledge of Zoho Books, QuickBooks, or other accounting software will be an advantage.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles.
- Good understanding of debit, credit, ledgers, journals, and trial balance.
- Knowledge of GST and TDS.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Good analytical and reconciliation skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Robust numerical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information.
- Good organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to independently manage day-to-day accounts activities.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the company's accounts rather than only perform data-entry work.
The candidate should be:
- Responsible and trustworthy.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Comfortable working with financial data.
- Capable of identifying and correcting accounting discrepancies.
- Able to manage deadlines and statutory compliance requirements.
- Comfortable coordinating with management, HR, vendors, clients, CA, and auditors.
- Able to maintain complete and accurate financial records.
- Proactive in identifying financial issues before they become major problems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com), Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Practical experience with Tally and Excel preferred.
- Experience handling company accounts independently will be an advantage.

- Accuracy of accounting records.
- Timely completion of monthly accounts.
- Bank and ledger reconciliation accuracy.
- Timely GST/TDS compliance support.
- Reduction of accounting discrepancies.
- Proper maintenance of invoices, vouchers, and financial documentation.
- Timely preparation of management reports.
- Successful coordination with CA/auditors.
- Effective control of receivables, payables, and company expenses.
Core Responsibility
The Accountant will be responsible for ensuring that Rarefiction Media's accounts are accurate, organized, compliant, properly audited, and up to date at all times.
Pay: ₹10,790.11 - ₹15,524.02 per month
