The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising day-to-day production activities and ensuring that production targets are achieved on time while maintaining product quality, food safety, hygiene, productivity, and workplace safety. The role includes manpower management, process monitoring, material utilization, production documentation, and coordination with Quality, Maintenance, Stores, and other departments.

A. Production Operations

- Supervise daily production activities according to the approved production plan.
- Ensure production targets are achieved within the scheduled time.
- Monitor production processes from raw material handling to finished product packing.
- Ensure production is carried out according to approved SOPs, recipes, specifications, and batch instructions.
- Monitor process parameters such as temperature, time, weight, quantity, yield, and other product-specific requirements.
- Identify production delays, process deviations, and operational issues and report them to the Production Manager.
- Ensure proper shift handover and communication of pending activities.

B. Manpower Management

- Allocate workers and operators to different production areas according to workload.
- Monitor employee attendance, punctuality, productivity, and discipline.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower.
- Guide, train, and motivate production workers and helpers.
- Train employees on production procedures, hygiene, safety, GMP, and SOP requirements.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and compliance with workplace safety procedures.

C. Food Safety & Hygiene

- Ensure compliance with GMP, GHP, HACCP, FSSAI requirements,



and company food-safety procedures.Food manufacturing roles commonly require supervisors to enforce GMP, HACCP, hygiene, sanitation, and food-safety requirements on the production floor.D. Raw Material & Packaging Material
- Coordinate with Stores for timely availability of raw materials and packaging materials.
- Verify that materials issued for production match the approved production requirements.
- Monitor material consumption against standard requirements.
- Minimize material wastage, spillage, and unnecessary consumption.
- Report shortages, damages, or material-related issues immediately.
- Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and production-area cleanliness.
- Ensure cleaning and sanitation activities are completed as per schedule.
- Prevent contamination and cross-contamination during production.
- Immediately report food-safety, quality, or hygiene deviations to the Quality Department.
- Support internal and external food-safety audits.

E. Quality Coordination

- Coordinate with the QC/QA team for in-process quality checks.
- Ensure production follows approved product specifications.
- Stop or hold production when reliable quality or food-safety deviations are identified, as per company procedure.
- Support investigation of production-related quality complaints and deviations.




- Implement corrective and preventive actions as instructed.

F. Machine & Equipment Monitoring

- Monitor the proper operation of production machinery and equipment.
- Ensure machines are operated according to SOPs and safety procedures.
- Identify abnormal machine performance and report breakdowns to Maintenance.
- Coordinate with the Maintenance Department to reduce production downtime.
- Ensure equipment cleaning and basic maintenance activities are completed as required.
- Maintain equipment-related production records and checklists.

G. Wastage & Productivity Control

- Monitor production yield and wastage on a daily basis.
- Identify major sources of production wastage.
- Take corrective action to reduce material loss and production inefficiencies.
- Monitor machine utilization and production efficiency.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S, Lean practices, and process improvement.

4. Qualifications

- Diploma / Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Dairy Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Candidates with relevant experience in food manufacturing may also be considered.
- Basic knowledge of GMP, HACCP, FSSAI, food safety, hygiene, and 5S is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office and production reporting.

5. Experience

- 2–5 years of experience in a production/supervisory role in the Food Manufacturing / FMCG / Food Processing industry preferred.
- Experience in managing production workers and food-processing operations will be an advantage.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
