We are looking for an AI Conversational Systems Engineer who can develop and manage production-ready conversational AI systems for both websites and telephone calls.

The role involves backend development, real-time voice communication, AI/LLM integration, RAG-based knowledge systems, database management, third-party integrations, and deployment. You will work on multilingual AI voice agents that can answer customer queries, retrieve accurate information, capture leads, maintain conversations, and connect with business applications.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain real-time AI voice agents for websites and phone calls.
- Build scalable backend APIs and services using Python and FastAPI.
- Integrate Speech-to-Text (STT), Text-to-Speech (TTS), LLMs, telephony platforms, and real-time communication services.
- Design and implement reliable RAG systems using FAISS, FastEmbed, vector embeddings, and hybrid search.
- Manage the complete knowledge-base pipeline, including data ingestion, document processing, chunking, indexing, retrieval, and source verification.
- Improve AI response accuracy and reduce hallucinations through grounded prompts, retrieval evaluation, and response validation.
- Develop multilingual voice conversations with proper persona selection, context management, call-state tracking, and interruption handling.
- Build integrations for lead capture, conversations, call transcripts, recordings, KPIs, and dashboards.
- Work with PostgreSQL, asynchronous database operations, object storage, and background processing systems.
- Containerize and operate applications using Docker and Docker Compose.
- Troubleshoot production issues by analysing application logs, transcripts, database records, API behaviour, and service health.
- Develop automated tests covering RAG quality, prompts, tools, authentication, tenant isolation, and production-critical functionality.




- Deploy new features and updates safely while ensuring that existing customers and shared services remain stable.
- Maintain technical documentation, deployment guides, troubleshooting procedures, and operational runbooks.

Required Skills

- Strong hands-on experience with Python.
- Experience working with FastAPI or a similar Python backend framework.
- Good knowledge of asynchronous Python programming and WebSockets.
- Practical experience with PostgreSQL and SQLAlchemy or asyncpg.
- Experience integrating LLM APIs into applications.
- Positive understanding of RAG, embeddings, semantic search, document chunking, and vector databases.
- Experience with FAISS, FastEmbed, Qdrant, Pinecone, Weaviate, or similar technologies.
- Working knowledge of Docker, Linux, Git, and production deployment environments.
- Ability to troubleshoot distributed applications using logs, database queries, and API traces.
- Strong understanding of API security, authentication, authorization, tenant isolation, and secret management.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, scalable, and testable code.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with Gemini Live, OpenAI Realtime, or other real-time multimodal AI APIs.
- Experience with LiveKit, SIP, WebRTC, Twilio, Exotel, or similar voice/telephony technologies.
- Understanding of audio streaming, PCM audio formats, Voice Activity Detection (VAD), and interruption/barge-in handling.
- Experience developing multilingual AI voice applications, particularly for Indian languages.
- Familiarity with MinIO or S3-compatible object storage.
- Experience with React or TypeScript for developing voice interfaces, widgets, or dashboards.
- Experience analysing conversations and transcripts to measure AI grounding, retrieval accuracy, customer engagement, and lead-conversion performance.
- Knowledge of CI/CD, cloud deployment, monitoring, logging, and incident management.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
