Daloft Aerospace Pvt. Ltd. is a deep-tech aerospace startup incubated at IIT Madras Research Park, Chennai, focused on developing UAVs, avionics, embedded systems, flight-control technologies, and autonomous aerial systems.

About the Role

We are looking for a UAV Engineer with approximately 1 year of relevant hands-on experience to join our engineering team in Chennai.

The candidate will work directly on ongoing UAV and aerospace engineering projects, contributing to UAV assembly, avionics integration, flight controller systems, troubleshooting, system testing, flight testing, and product development.

This is a hands-on engineering role suited for someone who is comfortable working with UAV hardware, electronics, embedded systems, flight controllers, sensors, and real-world flight-testing activities.

Salary: ₹25,000 – ₹30,000 per month

Key Responsibilities

- Work on UAV system assembly, integration, testing, and validation.
- Perform avionics hardware integration and testing.
- Integrate and troubleshoot flight controllers, sensors, telemetry, GPS, communication systems, ESCs, and other UAV components.
- Assist with PCB assembly, wiring, soldering, connectors, and electrical integration.
- Configure, test, and troubleshoot flight controller systems.
- Support flight controller firmware testing, debugging, and validation.
- Conduct pre-flight checks, ground testing, and flight-testing activities.
- Analyze flight data, flight logs, and system performance.
- Identify and troubleshoot hardware, firmware, electrical, and system-level issues.
- Support UAV prototype development, modification, and validation.
- Assist with sensor integration and communication interfaces.
- Maintain technical documentation, test procedures,



flight reports, and engineering records.
- Work closely with the engineering team during product development and field testing.
- Support continuous improvement of UAV hardware, firmware, and system-level performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Electronics & Communication, Electrical & Electronics, Mechatronics, Robotics, Embedded Systems, or a related engineering discipline.
- Approximately 1 year of hands-on experience in UAVs, drones, avionics, embedded systems, robotics, or related engineering projects.
- Good understanding of UAV and drone systems.
- Practical knowledge of flight controller systems.
- Understanding of embedded systems and electronics fundamentals.
- Experience with sensors, GPS, telemetry, ESCs, motors, batteries, and communication systems.
- Ability to perform hardware debugging and troubleshooting.
- Basic understanding of wiring, PCB systems, connectors, and electrical integration.
- Ability to analyze flight data and flight logs.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Willingness to work hands-on with UAV hardware and participate in field and flight-testing activities.
- Good technical communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with companion computer integration.
- Experience with microcontrollers and embedded development.
- Knowledge of communication protocols such as UART, I2C, SPI, CAN, or similar interfaces.
- Experience with sensor integration and calibration.
- Experience with UAV assembly, maintenance, and system integration.
- Experience with flight-testing and troubleshooting UAV systems.
- Experience with embedded firmware testing and debugging.
- Experience working on academic, personal, startup, or professional UAV/robotics projects.

Who Can Apply

Candidates with around 1 year of relevant industry, project, or hands-on experience in UAVs, drones, aerospace systems, avionics, embedded systems, electronics, robotics, or related engineering domains are encouraged to apply.

Candidates who have demonstrated strong practical skills through UAV projects, drone development, embedded projects, robotics projects, flight-testing, or hardware integration work will be preferred.

Selection Process

Candidates should be prepared to demonstrate their understanding of UAV systems and discuss their previous hands-on engineering or project experience.

This is a full-time, on-site engineering position. The role requires hands-on work with UAV hardware and participation in system integration, testing, troubleshooting, and flight-testing activities.
