Job Overview

DEKRA India Private Limited is looking for an expert having 15- 25 years’ experience in process safety, risk and reliability for the role of Principal Consultant to be located in Mumbai, India.

Position Title: Deputy General Manager

This role requires a safety, reliability, and risk management specialist who will contribute in the development of process safety excellence in India, manage projects and relationships with the existing and potential clientele.
As a leading technical specialist, he will be responsible to perform/guide risk assessments and reliability studies and conduct risk management training. As a project manager with sound commercial awareness, he will be required to manage the delivery of projects by effective utilization of time, quality and cost. He will also be responsible for DEKRA-India’s growth by constantly seeking new opportunities and furthering the existing client relations.

- A graduate (Master’s Degree, B.E. or B.Tech.)



in Chemical Engineering from a reputed university
- Experienced on Offshore/Onshore Projects: Oil & Gas Installations, Refineries, Petrochemicals, Fertilizers, Chemical Plants, Marine and other high hazard process industries

Job Experience:

- To lead/chair Hazard Identification (HAZID), Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) and Control Hazard and Operability (CHAZOP) Studies
- Major Accident Hazard Facility (MAH) Safety Case and ALARP Demonstration
- Safety Integrity Level (SIL) Classification/ Verification
- Fire, Explosion and Toxic Consequence Analysis
- Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA)
- Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA)
- Occupied Building Risk Assessment (OBRA)
- Emergency Response Planning (ERP)
- Hazardous Area Classification (HAC)
- Fault Tree/ Event Tree Analysis
- Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis
- Risk and reliability application of IEC 61508/6511
- Process Safety Management Implementation and Process Safety Audits; etc.
- Hands on working experience and expertise in Consequence and Risk Analysis software including DNV PHAST, DNV SAFETI etc.
- Project management from initial meetings to final reporting and compilation technical reports for the client with recommendations for practical and cost-effective solutions
- Application of relevant PESO/PNGRB/NFPA/API/OISD/IS/NORSOK/IEC standards and other international standards
- Excellent proficiency in English and a proven ability to work effectively and professionally across different cultural environments
- Possesses excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Flexibility to travel according to the company’s/client’s requirements
- Ability to coach and mentor colleagues working under you
