About the Role

Rarefiction Media is looking for a Website Designer, Developer & SEO Specialist who can take complete ownership of a website project from initial requirement gathering to design, development, deployment, SEO, optimization, maintenance, and problem resolution.

The ideal candidate should be technically strong, creative, and an excellent problem solver. The candidate must have hands-on experience with WordPress, website coding, responsive design, SEO, hosting, website performance, and troubleshooting.

This role requires someone who can independently handle the complete end-to-end website development lifecycle rather than depending on separate teams for every stage.

Key Responsibilities1. End-to-End Website Development

- Understand client/business requirements and convert them into website solutions.
- Plan website structure, pages, navigation, user flow, and functionality.
- Design modern, professional, responsive websites.
- Develop websites from scratch using appropriate technologies.
- Convert Figma/design concepts into functional websites.
- Build websites using WordPress as well as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other relevant technologies.
- Customize WordPress themes, plugins, templates, and page builders.
- Integrate contact forms, payment gateways, APIs, analytics, CRM tools, and third-party services when required.
- Handle website deployment and make websites live.
- Manage domains, hosting, SSL, DNS, cPanel, and basic server-related requirements.

2. WordPress Development

- Develop and customize WordPress websites.
- Customize themes and plugins according to project requirements.
- Work with Elementor, WPBakery, Gutenberg, or similar builders.
- Manage WordPress pages, menus, forms, media, and content.
- Perform WordPress updates and maintenance.
- Troubleshoot WordPress errors and compatibility issues.
- Handle website migration, backups, and restoration.
- Maintain website security and basic protection against common issues.

3. SEO – Search Engine Optimization





The candidate should be capable of handling technical and on-page SEO for websites.

Responsibilities include:

- Perform keyword research and identify relevant search opportunities.
- Implement on-page SEO strategies.
- Optimize page titles, meta descriptions, headings, URLs, images, and internal links.
- Optimize website content for search engines.
- Implement SEO-friendly website structures.
- Improve website loading speed and Core Web Vitals.
- Handle image optimization and technical performance improvements.
- Create and manage XML sitemaps and robots.txt.
- Identify and fix broken links, duplicate content, indexing issues, and basic technical SEO problems.
- Set up and monitor Google Search Console and Google Analytics.
- Monitor keyword rankings and organic traffic.
- Conduct basic competitor and website SEO analysis.
- Coordinate with the content team to ensure SEO-friendly content implementation.

4. Website Performance & Optimization

- Analyze website speed and performance.
- Identify performance bottlenecks.
- Optimize images, scripts, CSS, plugins, and website resources.
- Improve mobile and desktop performance.
- Ensure websites are responsive and cross-browser compatible.
- Maintain good website usability and user experience.

5. Problem Solving & Troubleshooting

The candidate must be a strong technical problem solver.

They should be able to:

- Diagnose website errors independently.
- Identify the root cause of technical problems.
- Fix HTML, CSS, JavaScript, WordPress, plugin, and theme-related issues.
- Resolve layout and responsiveness problems.
- Troubleshoot hosting, SSL, DNS, domain, and deployment issues.
- Identify conflicts between plugins and themes.
- Fix broken website functionality.
- Handle urgent website issues and restore functionality quickly.
- Research unfamiliar technical problems and find effective solutions.

Candidate Profile

- Has 1+ year of practical website development experience.
- Can independently handle a website project from requirement → design → development → testing → deployment → SEO → maintenance.
- Has strong WordPress and coding knowledge.
- Understands both design and technical development.
- Has a strong problem-solving mindset.
- Can work independently without constant technical supervision.
- Can manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Can communicate with designers, content writers, SEO teams, business analysts, project managers, and clients.
- Takes complete ownership of assigned projects.
- Is willing to research and learn when facing new technical challenges.

Qualification

- Bachelor's degree/diploma in Computer Science, IT, Web Development, or a related field preferred.
- 1+ year of relevant hands-on experience.
- Robust portfolio demonstrating websites personally designed/developed.
- Candidates must provide website portfolio/GitHub/project links wherever available.

Important Requirement

This is not a role limited to WordPress content uploading or basic website editing.

The candidate must be capable of thinking technically, coding, designing, implementing SEO, troubleshooting problems, and taking complete ownership of websites from start to finish.

Pay: ₹10,006.71 - ₹18,056.35 per month
