GNM Staff Nurse – Job Description

Designation: GNM Staff Nurse / College Nurse
Location: Nagapattinam, Tamil Nadu
Experience: Fresher / 0–2 years
Qualification: GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) – Registered Nurse

Job Responsibilities:

- Provide basic nursing care and first-aid support to students and staff.
- Attend to students who are sick, injured, or require immediate medical attention.
- Monitor vital signs such as BP, temperature, pulse, and SpO₂.
- Maintain student and staff health records and medical registers.
- Administer medicines and treatments as prescribed by the doctor.
- Coordinate with hospitals, clinics, and doctors when required.
- Handle medical emergencies and arrange ambulance/hospital referral when necessary.
- Support health check-up camps and periodic medical examinations.
- Maintain adequate stock of medicines, first-aid materials, and medical supplies.
- Provide basic health awareness and hygiene guidance to students.




- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and proper functioning of the college/hostel medical room.
- Assist hostel management in monitoring student health, particularly during night-time emergencies if applicable.
- Maintain confidentiality of student and staff medical information.
- Perform other nursing-related duties assigned by the management.

Skills Required:

- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic emergency and first-aid knowledge.
- Ability to handle students professionally and patiently.
- Positive record-keeping and documentation skills.
- Willingness to work in a college/hostel environment.

Pay: ₹6,000.00 - ₹12,000.00 per month
