Job Title: General Maintenance – Mechanical Utility Engineer- Deputy Manager

Department: Plant Maintenance – Utilities (Mechanical)

Location: Butibori, Maharashtra

Experience Required: Minimum 10 years in mechanical utility maintenance within solar module

Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

Job Purpose:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Mechanical Utility Operation & Maintenance:

Conduct regular preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance as per SOPs and OEM guidelines.

Ensure minimum downtime of utility systems supporting cleanrooms and critical production environments.

2. Equipment Reliability & Troubleshooting:

Identify root causes of equipment failure or performance issues and implement corrective actions.

Troubleshoot mechanical systems and coordinate with OEMs for complex repair works.

Optimize equipment settings for energy efficiency and reliability.

3. Utility Performance Monitoring:

Monitor system parameters such as temperature, pressure, flow rates, and energy consumption across utility equipment.

Maintain and analyze data from BMS, SCADA, or other automated systems for trend analysis and anomaly detection.

4. Documentation & Compliance:

Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and utility performance in SAP/CMMS or logbooks.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental norms, and company standards during maintenance activities.

Support external and internal audits related to utilities and mechanical systems.

5. Projects and Improvement Initiatives:

Assist in planning and executing utility expansions, upgrades, and new installations during plant scale-up.





Participate in energy-saving initiatives and OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) improvement projects.

Recommend and implement modifications to enhance performance and reduce maintenance costs.

6. Team Collaboration:

Coordinate with electrical, production, EHS, and facility teams to align utility operations with production requirements.

Guide junior technicians and contract manpower on daily tasks and safety practices.

Key Skills & Competencies:

- Solid knowledge of mechanical utility systems (chillers, compressors, HVAC, pumps, AHUs, etc.)
- Experience with cleanroom HVAC systems and Class 10k/100k environment maintenance.
- Understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and process utilities in manufacturing setups.
- Familiarity with SCADA/BMS systems and ability to analyze equipment performance trends.
- Working knowledge of SAP PM module, CMMS platforms, and MS Office.
- Strong problem-solving, planning, and team collaboration skills.

Certifications (Preferred):

- Certification in HVAC system design or mechanical utility operations
- Safety training (e.g., work at height, confined space)
- Energy Auditor (if applicable)
- To ensure smooth operation, preventive and breakdown maintenance, and continuous improvement of all mechanical utility systems required for solar module manufacturing.
- The role focuses on the reliability and efficiency of HVAC, compressed air, chilled water, and other critical utility systems.
- Operate and maintain utility equipment such as chillers, compressors, air dryers, HVAC systems, cooling towers, water pumps, AHUs, and exhaust systems.
