Job Description

Yashi Castings is looking for a VMC / Double Column Milling Machine Operator for our manufacturing unit in Howrah.

The selected candidate will be responsible for setting and operating VMC or Double Column Milling Machines to machine cast-iron and heavy-engineering components.

Candidates must be willing to work in rotational day and night shifts according to the production schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Operate VMC or Double Column Milling Machines

Perform job setting, tool setting and workpiece alignment

Set and correct tool offsets

Read and understand engineering drawings

Perform milling, drilling, boring and tapping operations

Make basic program and offset corrections when required

Measure components using Vernier Calipers, Micrometers and other measuring instruments

Maintain specified dimensions, tolerances and surface finish

Perform in-process inspection of machined components

Follow machine safety, quality and production procedures

Carry out basic machine maintenance and housekeeping





Work in rotational day and night shifts according to production requirements

Candidate Requirements

0–5 years of VMC/CNC machine-operating experience

Freshers with ITI training and practical VMC/CNC knowledge may also apply

Positive knowledge of job setting and tool setting

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings

Knowledge of Vernier Calipers, Micrometers and other measuring instruments

Experience in machining cast-iron or heavy-engineering components will be preferred

Qualification: ITI, Class 10 or Class 12

Must be willing to work in rotational day and night shifts

Candidates who can independently set and operate the machine will be preferred
