Electrical Machine for 2-Wheeler and 3-Wheeler EVs
An electrical machine in an EV is the main component that converts electrical energy from the battery into mechanical energy to drive the vehicle. It provides the required torque and speed to the wheels.
For 2-wheeler and 3-wheeler electric vehicles, commonly used machines include BLDC (Brushless DC) motors and PMSM (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors). These motors are compact, efficient, reliable, and provide high starting torque, making them suitable for electric scooters, motorcycles, rickshaws, and other light electric vehicles.
The electrical machine works together with the battery, motor controller .The controller regulates the power supplied to the motor according to the accelerator command, allowing smooth acceleration and efficient vehicle operation.
