Job Description
Role Summary
A DevOps Engineer with 6 years of experience specializing in GitHub Actions is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust CI/CD pipelines, ensuring reliable and efficient software delivery. This role collaborates closely with development, QA, and infrastructure teams to automate processes, enhance system reliability, and improve deployment speed and quality.
Key Responsibilities

CI/CD Pipeline Design & Implementation
- Architect, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Configure workflows for build, test, security scanning, and deployment across multiple environments.
- Optimize pipeline performance, reliability, and cost.

Automation & Infrastructure as Code
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.
- Automate environment provisioning, configuration management, and application deployments.
- Develop reusable automation scripts (e.g., Shell, Python, PowerShell) for operational tasks.

Cloud & Container Platforms
- Manage and support workloads on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Work with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes or EKS/AKS.
- Implement scalable and highly available infrastructure solutions.

Monitoring, Logging & Reliability
- Configure monitoring and alerting using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, or equivalent.
- Implement centralized logging using ELK/EFK, Splunk, or cloud-native solutions.
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and reliability improvements.

Security & Compliance in CI/CD
- Integrate security tools (SAST, DAST, dependency scanning) into GitHub Actions workflows.
- Manage secrets and credentials securely using GitHub Secrets, Vault, or cloud key management services.
- Ensure CI/CD processes comply with organizational security and governance standards.

Collaboration & DevOps Culture
- Work closely with development teams to enable continuous integration and delivery best practices.
- Drive adoption of DevOps methodologies,
automation, and standardization across projects.
- Document processes, pipelines, and infrastructure for maintainability and knowledge sharing.
Required Skills & Experience
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps / Build & Release Engineering.
- Strong expertise in GitHub Actions:
- Creating and managing workflows, reusable workflows, and actions.
- Experience with matrix builds, environment-specific pipelines, and multi-stage deployments.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD concepts, branching strategies (GitFlow, trunk-based), and release management.
- Practical experience with:
- Cloud platforms: AWS/Azure/GCP (any one or more).
- Containers & orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes.
- IaC tools: Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent.
- Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Linux-based systems administration and networking basics.
- Experience integrating testing frameworks, code quality tools, and security scanners into pipelines.
- Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools and practices.
Preferred/Good-to-Have
- Experience with other CI tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) for migration to GitHub Actions.
- Exposure to microservices architectures and deployment strategies (blue-green, canary, rolling).
- Knowledge of configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
