Job Description:
The Unit Head of Supply Chain Management (SCM) at Manipal Hospitals will oversee and manage all supply chain activities within the healthcare network. This role involves developing and implementing effective supply chain strategies to optimize inventory management, procurement, logistics, and distribution of medical supplies and equipment. The Unit Head will ensure the availability of high-quality materials while maintaining cost efficiency and compliance with healthcare regulations. The ideal candidate will collaborate with various departments to streamline operations, enhance supply chain processes, and support the overall objectives of the hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the supply chain management team in planning and executing procurement strategies to meet operational demands.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for supply chain performance, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
- Conduct regular audits of inventory management and distribution processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with clinical departments to forecast material needs and establish effective replenishment strategies.




- Manage relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve any supply chain issues.
- Implement best practices in supply chain operations to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the management of medical supplies.
- Train and develop staff in best practices of supply chain management and operations.

Skills and Tools Required:

- Proven experience in supply chain management, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in supply chain management software and tools (e.g., ERP systems).
- Knowledge of procurement processes, inventory management, and logistics.
- Solid negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations and compliance standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master's degree or relevant certification (e.g., Six Sigma, APICS) is a plus.
