3D Product Designer – CAD & Organic Modeling

J.J. Additive Manufacturing is looking for a skilled 3D Product Designer / CAD Designer who can create both precise engineering models and complex organic/artistic designs specifically for 3D printing.

We need a designer who can take a photograph, sketch, reference image, dimensions, physical sample, or concept and convert it into a complete, accurate, production-ready 3D model.

Key Responsibilities

- Create accurate 3D models from photographs, sketches, drawings, dimensions, and concepts.

- Design both organic/sculptural forms and precise CAD components.

- Create decorative products, furniture elements, statues, architectural details, carvings, reliefs, embossed patterns, geometric patterns, jali designs, and ornamental components.

- Develop parametric CAD models, assemblies, mechanical parts, joints, fixtures, and functional products.

- Modify, repair, and optimize existing STL, STEP, OBJ, and mesh files.

- Convert artistic models into manufacturable and 3D-printable designs.

- Optimize models for FDM 3D printing and additive manufacturing.

- Design parts considering wall thickness, tolerances, strength, overhangs, supports, print orientation, material usage, and print time.

- Split large models into printable sections and design suitable alignment pins, joints, connectors, or assembly mechanisms.

- Modify designs based on prototype and production feedback.





Required Skills

Strong experience with one or more CAD platforms:

SolidWorks / Fusion 360 / Rhino / Inventor / Creo / Siemens NX

Experience with organic modeling or digital sculpting:

Blender / ZBrush / Rhino SubD / 3DCoat / Maya

The candidate should understand:

- Parametric CAD

- Solid & surface modeling

- Organic modeling/sculpting

- Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM)

- FDM 3D printing

- Tolerances and clearances

- STL/mesh preparation and repair

- Product design and assemblies

- Embossing, engraving and ornamental modeling

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a hybrid designer — not only a CAD operator and not only a 3D artist. The candidate should combine artistic creativity with engineering and manufacturing knowledge.

The ability to accurately recreate products from reference photographs is especially important.

Portfolio Required

Applicants must submit a portfolio demonstrating CAD modeling, organic/sculptural modeling, product design, and preferably 3D-printable designs.

Shortlisted candidates may be given a practical design test.

Experience with 3D printing, product development, furniture, sculpture, architectural ornamentation, jewelry CAD, CNC, or reverse engineering will be an advantage.
