Assistant Operations Manager

Location: Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu
Position: Assistant Operations Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time
Experience: 2–5 years of hotel management / hotel operations experience

About Us

We are looking for an experienced and responsible Assistant Operations Manager to support the Hotel Operations Manager in managing daily operations and ensuring smooth coordination across all hotel departments.

Key Responsibilities1. Operations Management

· Assist the Hotel Operations Manager in overseeing Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Engineering, and Security operations.
· Ensure smooth day-to-day functioning of all departments.
· Monitor room readiness, cleanliness, maintenance, and public area standards.
· Ensure all departments follow established SOPs and service standards.
· Coordinate with department heads to resolve operational issues promptly.
· Support preventive maintenance and operational quality checks.

2. Guest Experience & Relations

· Ensure high standards of guest service and satisfaction.
· Handle guest queries, requests, and complaints professionally.
· Assist in resolving escalated guest issues in coordination with the Hotel Manager.
· Monitor guest feedback and online reviews across Google, Tripadvisor, and OTAs.
· Ensure personalized service for VIPs, corporate guests, and repeat customers.
· Promote a guest-focused culture across all departments.

3. Financial & Cost Control

· Assist in monitoring departmental budgets and operational expenses.
· Support cost-control initiatives across Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, and other departments.
· Monitor food cost, payroll costs, inventory, wastage, and other operating expenses.
· Assist in reviewing daily revenue and operational performance reports.
· Support the Hotel Manager in achieving revenue and profitability targets.

4. Sales, Marketing & Business Development

· Support the sales and marketing team in achieving business targets.




· Assist in developing corporate client relationships and local business tie-ups.
· Support MICE, group bookings, corporate events, and leisure business.
· Coordinate with travel agents, OTAs, and corporate clients when required.
· Assist in implementing promotional activities and OTA campaigns.
· Represent the hotel professionally during client meetings and networking events.

5. Human Resources & Team Leadership

· Assist in recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of hotel employees.
· Monitor staff attendance, grooming, discipline, and performance.
· Conduct regular departmental briefings and operational meetings.
· Support KPI-based performance evaluations.
· Motivate team members and encourage a positive, professional work culture.
· Identify training needs and coordinate with HR and department heads.

6. Quality, Compliance & Safety

· Ensure compliance with hotel SOPs, safety standards, hygiene requirements, and statutory regulations.
· Monitor fire safety, food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety practices.
· Support HACCP and hygiene standards across kitchens, rooms, and public areas.
· Assist in maintaining emergency response procedures.
· Ensure proper documentation and reporting of operational incidents.
· Support sustainability initiatives such as energy conservation and waste reduction.

7. Coordination & Administration

· Coordinate between different departments to ensure seamless hotel operations.
· Prepare and review daily operational reports.




· Assist the Hotel Manager in conducting departmental review meetings.
· Monitor pending operational issues and ensure timely closure.
· Take charge of hotel operations in the absence of the Hotel Operations Manager, when required.

· Guest satisfaction and online review scores.
· Operational efficiency and service quality.
· Departmental cost control and budget adherence.
· Staff attendance, performance, and training compliance.
· Room readiness and housekeeping standards.
· Food & Beverage quality and cost control.
· Corporate and group business support.
· Reduction in guest complaints and operational issues.
· SOP and safety compliance.

Qualifications & Skills

· Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, or Business Administration preferred.
· Minimum 2–5 years of experience in hotel operations or hospitality management.
· Previous experience in a business-class or upscale hotel is preferred.
· Good knowledge of PMS, POS, and hotel operational systems.
· Solid understanding of Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B;, and general hotel operations.
· Good communication, leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
· Strong guest-handling and conflict-resolution abilities.
· Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of additional languages is preferred.
· Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple operational priorities.

Work Conditions

· Full-time, on-site leadership role in Coimbatore.
· Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
· Shift-based work may be required depending on hotel operations.
· Combination of hands-on operations management and administrative responsibilities.
