Job Description – Web Author

About the Role

We are looking for a Web Author to create, manage, publish, and maintain high-quality content across websites and digital platforms. The ideal candidate should have strong content management skills, attention to detail, and a good understanding of CMS platforms, web content publishing, SEO, HTML/CSS basics, and digital content standards.

The candidate will work closely with content, design, marketing, and development teams to ensure that website content is accurate, engaging, consistent, and optimized for users and search engines.

Key Responsibilities

- Create, edit, format, and publish content on websites using CMS platforms.
- Manage and maintain web pages, landing pages, articles, blogs, product/service pages, and other digital content.
- Ensure content is accurate, up-to-date, well-structured, and aligned with brand guidelines.
- Upload and manage images, videos, documents, banners, and other digital assets.
- Format content using basic HTML and CSS where required.
- Implement basic SEO best practices, including keywords, meta titles, meta descriptions, headings, internal linking, and image alt text.
- Perform content quality checks before and after publishing.
- Identify and fix broken links, formatting issues, missing content, and other website content errors.
- Coordinate with writers, designers, developers, SEO specialists, and marketing teams.
- Follow content governance, accessibility, and web publishing standards.
- Maintain consistency in website terminology, formatting, tone, and visual presentation.
- Support website updates, content migrations, and page revisions.
- Monitor published content and make updates based on business requirements.
- Maintain proper version control and documentation of content changes.
- Assist with website audits and content quality improvement initiatives.





Required Skills

- Experience working with Content Management Systems (CMS) such as WordPress, Drupal, Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Sitecore, or similar platforms.
- Good knowledge of web content publishing and management.
- Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS.
- Understanding of SEO fundamentals.
- Solid proofreading and editing skills.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office / Google Workspace.
- Experience working with images and digital assets.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify content and formatting errors.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple content updates and meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or enterprise CMS platforms.
- Knowledge of Google Analytics / Google Search Console.
- Understanding of WCAG and web accessibility standards.
- Basic knowledge of JavaScript is an advantage.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar project management tools.
- Knowledge of content migration and website localization is a plus.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Educational Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Mass Communication, Marketing, Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications or practical experience in web content management will be an advantage.

Experience

- 1–3 years of experience in web content management, web publishing, digital content, or a related role.
- Freshers with strong CMS, content writing, or web publishing knowledge may also be considered for junior positions.
