Position: Emergency Technician

Reports To: Nursing In-Charge / Medical Officer

Job Summary

The Emergency Technician is responsible for assisting the medical and nursing team in providing prompt and effective care to patients arriving in the Emergency Department. The technician supports emergency procedures, patient monitoring, basic life-support activities, and maintenance of emergency equipment.

Key Responsibilities

- Receive and assist emergency patients promptly and professionally.
- Assist doctors and nurses during emergency procedures and resuscitation.
- Perform and record vital signs such as BP, pulse, temperature, SpO₂, and respiratory rate.
- Assist in ECG recording and other basic emergency investigations as trained.
- Prepare emergency equipment, trolley, oxygen supply, and required medical consumables.
- Assist in IV line preparation, wound dressing, splinting, and other procedures under the direction of authorized clinical staff.
- Assist during CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) as per hospital protocol.
- Provide support during patient shifting and transfer to ICU, OT, radiology, or other departments.
- Ensure emergency medicines, instruments, and consumables are available and properly arranged.
- Check emergency equipment regularly and report shortages, defects, or malfunction immediately.
- Maintain cleanliness, infection-control practices, and proper biomedical waste disposal.
- Maintain accurate patient records, emergency registers, and procedure documentation.




- Coordinate with ambulance services and other hospital departments when required.
- Follow hospital policies, safety protocols, infection-control guidelines, and NABH requirements.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and demonstrate professional behavior with patients and attendants.
- Perform any other emergency-related duties assigned by the supervisor or management.

Qualification

- Diploma / Certificate in Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Emergency Care, or relevant paramedical qualification.
- BLS/CPR certification will be preferred.
- Additional emergency-care training will be an advantage.

Experience

- 0–2 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Freshers with appropriate emergency-care training may also be considered.

- Good knowledge of basic emergency care and patient handling.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Valuable communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic knowledge of emergency equipment and medical terminology.
- Quick response and sound judgment during emergencies.
- Willingness to work rotational shifts, including night shifts.
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach.

Pay: ₹7,086.00 - ₹11,447.12 per month
