Job Description – Electrician & Mechanical Technician

Reporting To: Maintenance Manager / Plant Head
Experience: 2–4 Years in Industrial Maintenance

1. Job Purpose

To ensure smooth and reliable operation of plant machinery, electrical systems, and mechanical equipment by carrying out preventive, breakdown, and corrective maintenance activities while maintaining safety and minimum equipment downtime.

2. Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical Maintenance

- Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of electrical machines, panels, motors, starters, contactors, relays, sensors, and control systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults and restore equipment operation with minimum downtime.
- Inspect electrical wiring, cables, connections, earthing, MCBs, MCCs, and distribution panels.
- Conduct routine inspection of electrical equipment and identify potential failures.
- Maintain electrical maintenance records, breakdown reports, and preventive maintenance checklists.
- Ensure proper isolation/LOTO before carrying out electrical maintenance work.
- Support installation, commissioning, and modification of electrical equipment.

Mechanical Maintenance

- Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of machines, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, conveyors, bearings, shafts, and other mechanical equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical problems such as abnormal noise, vibration, overheating, leakage, and alignment issues.
- Perform lubrication, bearing replacement, belt/chain replacement, alignment, and machine adjustments.
- Assist in fabrication, welding, fitting, and modification work as required.
- Maintain mechanical tools, equipment, and spare parts properly.
- Support installation and commissioning of new machinery.

Safety & Compliance

- Follow all plant safety rules, PPE requirements, SOPs,



and work permit procedures.
- Ensure proper LOTO/isolation before electrical or mechanical maintenance activities.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions, equipment abnormalities, and potential hazards.
- Maintain good housekeeping in the maintenance area.
- Follow applicable electrical, fire, and occupational safety requirements.

3. Preventive Maintenance

- Execute daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance schedules.
- Monitor equipment health and identify recurring breakdowns.
- Maintain maintenance history and recommend corrective actions to improve machine reliability.
- Ensure critical spare parts and maintenance tools are available.

4. Required Skills

- Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical and mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of industrial motors, control panels, sensors, drives, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, and production machinery.
- Ability to read basic electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Basic knowledge of PLCs/VFDs will be an advantage.
- Good understanding of industrial safety practices.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.

5. Qualification

- ITI/Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical / Fitter / relevant technical trade.
- Industrial maintenance experience preferred.

- Reduction in machine breakdown and downtime.
- Timely completion of preventive maintenance.
- Equipment availability and reliability.
- Compliance with safety procedures.
- Proper maintenance documentation.
- Effective utilization of spare parts and maintenance resources.

7. Working Conditions

- Work in a manufacturing/plant environment.
- May be required to work in shifts and attend emergency breakdowns.
- Must be physically capable of performing maintenance activities and working around industrial equipment.

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
