Job Description – Quality Control Engineer | Unitech Concrete

Position Overview

We are looking for a Quality Control Engineer to ensure the quality, consistency, and compliance of Ready-Mix Concrete (RMC) produced and supplied by Unitech Concrete. The role involves conducting material and concrete testing, monitoring production quality, maintaining quality records, and coordinating with plant, production, and site teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Monitor the quality of RMC production as per approved mix designs and quality standards.
- Conduct testing of cement, aggregates, water, admixtures, and fresh concrete as per applicable standards.
- Perform slump, temperature, cube casting, compressive strength and other required concrete tests.
- Ensure proper sampling, identification, curing, testing, and documentation of concrete cubes.
- Monitor batching, mix proportions, water-cement ratio, admixture dosage, and moisture corrections.
- Maintain daily quality-control records, test reports, cube registers, and laboratory documentation.
- Analyse test results and identify quality deviations or recurring issues.
- Coordinate with the RMC Plant, Production, Dispatch, Site and Engineering teams to resolve quality-related issues.
- Ensure incoming raw materials meet the required specifications before use.
- Conduct regular checks of batching plant and laboratory equipment and ensure proper calibration.




- Assist in developing and maintaining mix designs and trial mixes as required.
- Investigate customer/site complaints related to concrete quality and support corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant IS codes, project specifications and company quality procedures.
- Maintain proper housekeeping, safety, and discipline within the laboratory and quality-control area.

Candidate Profile

Education: B.Tech / B.E. / Diploma in Civil Engineering
Experience: 1–4 years in RMC, concrete testing, construction quality control, or a similar role.

Required Skills

- Good knowledge of RMC and concrete technology
- Understanding of IS codes and concrete testing procedures
- Knowledge of mix design and quality-control practices
- Ability to analyse test results and identify deviations
- Valuable documentation and reporting skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work at RMC plants and project sites
- Good coordination and communication skills
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel and reporting tools

Preferred: Candidates with hands-on experience in an RMC plant, concrete laboratory, or construction quality-control environment will be preferred.
