Role: Stock Audit Executive

Job Summary

Responsible for conducting physical stock audits, inventory verification, reconciliation, and control checks across textile warehouses, showrooms, stores, and other stock locations. The role ensures that physical stock matches system records and identifies shortages, excesses, damages, wrong entries, process gaps, and stock irregularities.

Key Responsibilities

· Conduct regular and surprise physical stock audits at warehouses, textile showrooms, stores, and stockrooms.

· Verify physical quantities against ERP/system stock, stock registers, and supporting documents.

· Audit different categories such as silk sarees, fabrics, garments, dress materials, accessories, packing materials, and other textile products.

· Check stock by item code, barcode, design, color, size, lot/batch, shade, and other applicable specifications.

· Identify and report stock shortages, excess stock, duplicate entries, wrong item entries, damaged goods, and unexplained variances.

· Perform detailed stock reconciliation and investigate differences between physical and system inventory.

· Verify inward and outward transactions, including GRN, purchase invoices, transfer notes, sales invoices, delivery documents, and return records.

· Check whether stock movements are properly recorded in the ERP/system.

· Audit inter-branch and inter-warehouse stock transfers and ensure proper documentation.

· Verify damaged, rejected, returned, obsolete, and slow-moving stock.

· Check proper stock identification, labeling, barcode usage, storage, and segregation.

· Conduct cut-off checks during stock audits to ensure transactions are recorded in the correct period.

· Review stock adjustment entries and verify whether proper authorization has been obtained.

· Prepare stock audit reports, variance statements, reconciliation reports, and audit observations.

· Highlight control weaknesses and recommend corrective actions to management.

· Follow up with Warehouse, Showroom, Purchase,



Sales, Accounts, and Operations teams for closure of audit findings.

· Monitor recurring stock discrepancies and identify their root causes.

· Assist in implementing stronger inventory control procedures and loss-prevention measures.

· Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs, authorization procedures, and audit requirements.

· Maintain confidentiality of inventory, sales, purchase, and financial information.

· Verify silk saree and fabric piece counts against system records.

· Check fabric length, width, GSM, shade, lot, and roll/piece details, where applicable.

· Verify high-value silk and premium textile products separately.

· Check barcode/tag mismatch and incorrect product classification.

· Identify shade/lot mixing and incorrect stock-location issues.

· Verify stock transfers between warehouse, showroom, branches, and production units.

· Check stock received from suppliers against purchase documentation.

· Verify customer returns, alterations, exchanges, and damaged-product records.

· Monitor slow-moving and non-moving textile inventory.

Requirement :

· Experience in stock audit, inventory audit, internal audit, retail audit, or textile/garment operations.

· Experience in textile retail, warehouse, showroom, or manufacturing is preferred.

· Good knowledge of inventory control and reconciliation procedures.

· Strong MS Excel and ERP skills.

· Good analytical and numerical abilities.

· Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies.

· Good communication and report-writing skills.

· Willingness to travel between warehouses, showrooms, branches, and stock locations when required.

· High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professional ethics.
