Role Purpose
The Analytics Engineer will provide end-to-end production support and continuous improvement for WMS analytics assets. The role is responsible for maintaining reliable data pipelines, accurate reports and reconciliations, available dashboards, and efficient data models across inventory, transfer orders, capitalization, installation, shipment and business reporting processes.

Key Responsibilities
Production monitoring: Monitor scheduled data pipelines, report refreshes, dashboard availability and data-completeness controls; identify failures or delays and coordinate timely recovery.
Incident resolution: Investigate and resolve production issues involving model failures, pipeline failures, report unavailability, incorrect calculations, missing data and dashboard defects.
Data mismatch and reconciliation support: Analyse source-to-report mismatches and reconciliation discrepancies, isolate the failing logic or data dependency, and implement validated corrections.
Bug fixing: Deliver durable fixes for defects in SQL logic, dbt models, PySpark transformations, orchestration workflows, dashboard datasets and reconciliation rules.
Minor enhancements: Implement approved changes to existing reports,



dashboards, filters, fields, data models, reconciliation logic and business rules within the agreed scope.
Performance and technical-debt reduction: Optimise data models, queries and pipelines to improve runtime, stability, maintainability and resource utilisation without changing approved business outputs.
Dashboard support: Support Tableau dashboards, including data-source validation, refresh troubleshooting, filter/field changes and issue analysis in coordination with business users.
Root-cause analysis: Prepare clear RCA documentation for significant or recurring incidents, including impact, cause, corrective action, preventive action and dependency tracking.
Release and CI/CD support: Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, rollback planning and controlled promotion of fixes and enhancements through CI/CD pipelines.
Stakeholder coordination: Work with analytics, business, source-system, infrastructure and platform teams to resolve dependencies, upstream data issues and production outages.
Governance and documentation: Maintain issue trackers, weekly and monthly status inputs, RCA records, runbooks, support procedures and handover material for supported WMS analytics assets.

Required Technical Skills
SQL and data modelling: Strong hands-on capability in complex SQL, joins, aggregations, window functions, data-quality checks, model design and troubleshooting.
dbt: Experience developing, testing, debugging and supporting dbt models, dependencies, incremental processing and production deployments.
PySpark / Apache Spark: Ability to develop and diagnose distributed transformations, investigate performance bottlenecks and optimise Spark workloads.
Apache Airflow: Experience supporting scheduled workflows, task dependencies, retries, failure analysis, backfills and operational recovery.
CI/CD: Working knowledge of Git-based development, automated validation, deployment pipelines and controlled release practices.
Tableau support: Experience supporting dashboards and their underlying datasets, refreshes, fields, filters and report-level issues.
Reconciliation and data quality: Ability to design and troubleshoot reconciliation logic, completeness checks, duplicate checks and source-to-target validation.
Production support: Demonstrated experience handling business-impacting incidents, prioritisation, RCA, workaround design and permanent resolution.
Functional and Operational Capabilities
Ability to understand existing report logic and translate business issues into model-, pipeline- or dashboard-level fixes.
Structured troubleshooting across source data, transformation logic, orchestration, target tables and presentation layers.
Strong attention to data accuracy, reconciliation integrity and regression prevention.
Clear written and verbal communication for incident updates, RCA reviews, blockers, risks and delivery status.
Ability to work within a fixed scope, distinguish defects from enhancements, and escalate out-of-scope requests appropriately.
Strong ownership of production issues and a quality-focused approach to testing, regression validation and controlled deployment.
