Position Title: Design Engineer – LV & MV Switchgear (RMU / VCB / CSS)

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Design Engineer to work on the design and development of Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) electrical products including Ring Main Units (RMU), Vacuum Circuit Breaker (VCB) panels, Compact Substations (CSS), LT/HT panels, control & relay panels, and associated power distribution systems. You will be responsible for electrical and mechanical design coordination, preparation of manufacturing drawings, BOM creation, compliance with IEC standards, and technical support for production and testing activities.
Key Responsibilities

- Electrical & Mechanical Design:
- Prepare electrical and mechanical design documentation for RMU panels, VCB panels, Compact Substations (CSS), LV/MV switchboards, metering/control panels, and FRTU/automation panels.
- Develop Single Line Diagrams (SLD), General Arrangement (GA) drawings, schematic and wiring diagrams, interconnection diagrams, cable schedules, terminal plans, and panel fabrication designs.
- Perform selection and sizing of CTs/PTs, protection relays, busbars, cables, switchgear components, and control devices.
- Standards & Compliance:
- Ensure designs comply with IEC 62271, IEC 61439, utility specifications (BESCOM/ESCOMs), and customer technical requirements.
- Prepare technical compliance documents and type test references.
- Manufacturing & Production Support:
- Release drawings and BOMs for production.
- Provide technical clarification to the Production, Purchase, Quality, and Testing departments.
- Support prototype development and continuous design improvements.
- Testing, Validation & Quality:
- Coordinate routine and type testing activities, supporting internal testing, CPRI testing, and customer inspections.
- Analyze test results and implement necessary corrective actions.
- Documentation & ERP:




- Maintain revision control of drawings and engineering documents.
- Update BOMs and design records within ERP/PDM systems.
- Project Execution & KPIs:
- Prepare customer approval drawings, incorporate comments/revisions, and optimize designs for manufacturability and cost reduction.
- Focus on design accuracy, timely drawing release, reduction of rework, and successful testing approvals.

Required Qualifications & Experience

- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Certifications: Additional certification in AutoCAD, EPLAN, or SolidWorks is preferred.
- LV Experience: 2–8 years of experience in LT panels, PCC/MCC panels, control panels, and distribution boards.
- MV Experience: 3–10 years of experience in RMU, VCB panels, CSS, HT switchgear, and protection/control systems.

Technical & Soft Skills

- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of LV/MV switchgear systems, protection schemes, relay coordination, busbar calculations, earthing systems, and electrical safety standards.
- Software Proficiency: Hands-on expertise in AutoCAD, EPLAN / AutoCAD Electrical, MS Office, and ERP systems.
- Preferred Knowledge: Familiarity with IEC standards, utility approval procedures, type test documentation, and SCADA/FRTU integration.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical ability, attention to detail, strong communication, and proven time-management skills under tight project deadlines.

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
