We are looking for a Purchase Executive with around 2 years of experience in project procurement, preferably from the steel, manufacturing, engineering, or heavy industrial sector. The candidate will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, vendor coordination, order processing, and timely procurement of materials, equipment, spares, and services required for ongoing plant projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Handle end-to-end procurement activities for plant projects, expansion projects, CAPEX, and maintenance requirements.
- Understand purchase requisitions (PR), specifications, BOQs, drawings, and project requirements.
- Identify and develop suitable vendors and suppliers for project materials and services.
- Obtain and compare quotations based on price, quality, delivery, payment terms, and technical specifications.
- Prepare comparative statements and negotiate with vendors to achieve competitive pricing and favorable commercial terms.
- Generate and process Purchase Orders (POs) and Work Orders as per company procedures.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Projects, Maintenance, Stores, Quality, Finance, and other departments for procurement requirements.
- Follow up with vendors for timely delivery of materials and equipment as per project schedules.
- Monitor pending purchase orders and ensure timely closure of procurement activities.
- Coordinate with vendors regarding technical clarifications, drawings, inspection requirements, dispatch, and documentation.
- Assist in vendor evaluation, development, and performance monitoring.
- Ensure procurement is carried out as per approved specifications, budgets, quality standards, and company policies.
- Maintain proper records of quotations, comparative statements, purchase orders, vendor correspondence, and procurement documentation.




- Support cost-saving initiatives through negotiation, alternate sourcing, and vendor development.
- Coordinate with Stores and Quality teams for material receipt, inspection, rejection, replacement, and shortage issues.
- Resolve commercial and delivery-related issues with suppliers.
- Prepare regular MIS reports, procurement status reports, pending PO reports, and project material tracking reports.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement procedures and applicable statutory requirements.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Good understanding of project purchase and procurement processes.
- Knowledge of industrial/engineering materials, preferably steel plant equipment, mechanical items, electrical items, instrumentation, fabrication materials, spares, and consumables.
- Strong vendor identification, negotiation, and follow-up skills.
- Ability to evaluate quotations and prepare comparative statements.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel, MS Office, and ERP/SAP purchase modules.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under project deadlines and handle multiple procurement requirements.
- Strong analytical and commercial skills.
- Valuable documentation and record-keeping ability.

Educational Qualification

Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Production Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, or a related discipline.

Experience

- 2+ years of experience in Purchase/Procurement, with significant exposure to project procurement.
- Experience in a steel plant, manufacturing plant, EPC, engineering, infrastructure, or heavy industrial organization will be preferred.
- Candidates with experience in CAPEX/project purchases will have an advantage.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
