Role Overview

We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Design Engineer with 1 to 2 years of professional industry experience to join our hardware team. You will play a crucial role in bringing our autonomous multi-domain platforms to life, moving beyond entry-level tasks to actively drive conceptualization, detailed CAD modeling, physical prototyping, and final assembly.

Key Responsibilities

3D Modeling & Drafting: Create and maintain detailed 3D models, complex structural assemblies, and production-ready 2D manufacturing drawings using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA).

Component Design: Drive the conceptualization and detailed design of rugged hardware, including structural frames, pressure housings, sensor mounts, and propulsion integrations.

Engineering Analysis: Conduct structural, thermal, and fluid dynamics simulations (FEA/CFD) on critical system components to validate designs for harsh environments.

Prototyping & Fabrication: Manage aspects of the physical prototyping phase, including 3D printing,



and independently collaborate with vendors for precision machining and sheet metal fabrication.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Coordinate closely with electronics and software teams to ensure sensors, cameras, and PCBs fit securely inside watertight and weather-sealed enclosures.

Documentation: Generate and manage clear technical documentation, bills of materials (BOM), and comprehensive design reports for all assigned projects.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education: B.E. or B.Tech in Aeronautical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.

Experience: 1–2 years of professional industry experience in mechanical design and product development.

Technical Skills

CAD/CAM Proficiency: Strong, proven proficiency in at least one major CAD/CAM tool (Fusion, SolidWorks, Creo, or AutoCAD) with experience managing complex assemblies.

Core Fundamentals: Practical application of core engineering fundamentals: mechanics of materials, fluid mechanics, kinematics, and thermodynamics.

Simulation Tools: Hands-on experience with analysis software (e.g., ANSYS) for real-world applications.

Manufacturing Knowledge: Solid understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) principles, practical manufacturing processes, machining limits, tolerances, and rapid prototyping.

Domain Knowledge: Previous exposure to or working knowledge of unmanned surface vehicles (USVs), unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), etc., is highly preferred.

Soft Skills

Solid analytical problem-solving mindset, proven ability to take ownership of design tasks, and the agility to thrive in a fast-paced defense-tech startup environment.
