Job Title: Japanese & Korean Language Teacher
Department: Foreign Languages / Contemporary Languages
Reports To: Principal / Academic Coordinator / Head of Department

Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate, skilled, and enthusiastic Japanese & Korean Language Teacher to teach students Japanese and Korean language skills and introduce them to the cultures, traditions, and communication styles of Japan and South Korea. The teacher will create an engaging learning environment through interactive activities, conversation practice, cultural programs, and technology-supported teaching.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver engaging Japanese and Korean language lessons according to the school curriculum.
- Develop students’ speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation skills.
- Teach Japanese scripts including Hiragana, Katakana, and basic Kanji, as appropriate to the student level.
- Teach Korean Hangul, vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and conversational skills.
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, assignments, projects, and language-learning materials.
- Conduct conversation practice, role plays, presentations, language games, and interactive activities.
- Assess students through written tests, oral examinations, projects, assignments, and regular classroom activities.
- Provide remedial and additional support to students who require assistance.
- Introduce students to Japanese and Korean culture, history, traditions, festivals, food, arts,



and everyday communication.
- Organize language clubs, cultural events, quizzes, competitions, and other language-related activities.
- Use audio-visual resources, smart classrooms, language-learning applications, and digital tools.
- Maintain accurate attendance, assessment, and student progress records.
- Communicate with parents regarding students’ academic progress when required.
- Collaborate with other teachers and participate in school meetings, examinations, events, and training programs.
- Encourage students to develop confidence and practical communication skills in Japanese and Korean.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Japanese, Korean, Foreign Languages, Linguistics, or a related field.
- B.Ed. / equivalent teacher-training qualification preferred.
- Proficiency in Japanese and/or Korean appropriate to the teaching level.
- Relevant certifications such as JLPT (Japanese) or TOPIK (Korean) will be an advantage.
- Previous teaching experience in a school, language institute, or educational institution is preferred.
