JOB POSTING – QUALITY CONTROL INSPECTOR

Position: Quality Control Inspector – Hydraulic & Air Compressor Components

Job Summary

We are looking for a Quality Control Inspector with hands-on experience in precision measurement and testing of hydraulic cylinders, pistons, air compressor cylinders and related components.

The candidate will be responsible for inspecting components during and after manufacturing to ensure dimensional accuracy, quality standards and functional performance.

Key Responsibilities

- Inspect hydraulic cylinders, pistons, sleeves, rods and other precision components.
- Measure critical dimensions using micrometers, vernier calipers, bore gauges, dial gauges and other precision measuring instruments.
- Inspect piston dimensions with very tight tolerances, including measurements in the range of 270.000–270.001 mm, wherever specified in the drawing.
- Check OD, ID, bore diameter, length, concentricity, straightness, surface finish and tolerances as per engineering drawings.
- Verify components against technical drawings, specifications and inspection standards.
- Carry out in-process and final inspection of manufactured components.
- Perform air compressor cylinder testing, including dimensional and functional checks.
- Assist in pressure/leak testing of compressor cylinders and assemblies as per company testing procedures.
- Identify defective components and ensure proper segregation of OK / Rework / Rejection parts.
- Maintain inspection reports, measurement records and quality documentation.
- Coordinate with the Production and Assembly teams regarding dimensional and quality issues.
- Report recurring manufacturing defects and assist in identifying their root causes.
- Ensure measuring instruments are properly maintained and calibrated.
- Follow all company quality, safety and inspection procedures.

Required Skills





- Good knowledge of precision measurement and dimensional inspection.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, tolerances and specifications.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Outside Micrometer
- Vernier Caliper
- Bore Gauge
- Dial Gauge
- Height Gauge
- Depth Gauge
- Other precision measuring instruments
- Understanding of H7/H8 fits, shaft and bore tolerances, clearance and interference fits will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic components is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of air compressor testing and pressure/leak testing.
- Good attention to detail and ability to identify very small dimensional variations.
- Ability to maintain accurate inspection records.

Qualification & Experience

Qualification: ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Experience:
2–5 years of experience in Quality Control / Inspection, preferably in:

- Hydraulic cylinder manufacturing
- Automobile components
- Precision machining
- Pump manufacturing
- Air compressor manufacturing
- Engineering / fabrication industries

Freshers with strong knowledge of precision measurement may also be considered.
