CMA Junior — Cost & Numbers

We are hiring the first junior finance person to sit inside Protein World's new Gurgaon headquarters.

This is a ground-floor seat. You will learn the whole business from the numbers up, sitting close to the people making the decisions.

Protein World is a founder-led nutrition business. We think in centuries and act in weeks. We are not a corporate, and we are not trying to become one.

What you will actually do

This seat is built around one thing: following the numbers as goods, money, and materials move around the world.

Invoice and cost control Every supplier invoice comes to you first. You check it, line by line, against the signed quote or contract before anything is paid. When a number does not match what was agreed — a rate that was never quoted, an area that grew, an extra that no one authorised — you find it and you flag it. Nothing gets released without matching to an approved scope.

Shipment and cross-border analysis. UK to India, India to the UK. You track what things cost to move — duties, freight, landed cost, FX — and where margin leaks between countries. When a number does not look right, you find out why.

New facility analysis When we move into a current building or site,



you help build the cost picture — what it should cost, what it actually costs, where the variance sits.

New product analysis SKU-level costing, COGS, unit economics. Before we launch something, you help work out whether the maths holds.

Materials tracking We buy materials direct and give them to contractors on a labour-only basis. You track what we bought, where it went, and what each contractor is genuinely owed.

On paper

- CMA Inter (qualified is a plus, not required), or B.Com with strong costing fundamentals

- 1–3 years experience — manufacturing, D2C, construction/fit-out, or a promoter-led group is ideal, but we will take a sharp fresher who can prove they notice things

- Genuinely strong on costing, BOMs, and unit economics — not just bookkeeping

- Comfortable in Tally and advanced Excel/Sheets; willing to learn Shopify, Razorpay, and marketplace dashboards

- Comfortable with numbers from more than one entity

- Open to occasional travel across India and the UK as the seat grows

Who we are looking for

Someone who notices things. The small mismatches that most people walk past — a freight number that is too high, a cost that does not reconcile, a margin that quietly slipped.



The job is half technical and half perceptual, and the perceptual half is the one that compounds.

Someone who will be the difficult one when the numbers need it. You will be checking the invoices of vendors and colleagues. We want the person who surfaces the problem, not the person who keeps everyone comfortable. You will always be backed for doing that.

Someone who is good with people. You will deal with vendors, marketplace teams, our CA firm, and our banks. You will be trusted quickly.

Someone who does more with less, and someone of high character. You will see real numbers early. Trust is the currency here.

- **Base salary ₹6–9L**, set on experience.

- **Annual performance bonus of up to ₹5L**, based on the quality of your cost control — variances caught, margin protected, clean books, problems surfaced early. We reward the person who finds what others miss, not the person who keeps the peace.
