We are seeking a highly experienced Senior AS400 / IBM i Infrastructure & DR Failover Engineer with strong expertise in managing mission-critical infrastructure within core banking and financial services environments.
The role will focus on ensuring infrastructure resilience, high availability, disaster recovery readiness, and the automation of failover and failback processes. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with AS400 / IBM i administration, HA, replication, DR planning, and business continuity in production-critical and regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and support AS400 / IBM i infrastructure in high-availability and mission-critical environments.
Design, implement, and maintain failover and failback strategies for AS400 / IBM i systems.
Lead Disaster Recovery (DR) preparedness activities, including workplace readiness, DR drills, testing, and validation exercises.
Ensure DR environments remain continuously ready, including:
Infrastructure readiness
Replication health
Network connectivity
System and user access




Documentation and operational procedures
Automate failover and failback processes using scripts, tools, or orchestration platforms to reduce manual intervention and recovery time.
Work closely with core banking and financial services application teams to align infrastructure resilience with business and operational requirements.
Monitor system performance, availability, capacity, and replication health across primary and DR environments.
Identify potential infrastructure risks and proactively implement improvements to strengthen system resilience.
Prepare, maintain, and regularly update DR runbooks, SOPs, recovery procedures, and compliance documentation.
Support audits, regulatory requirements, risk assessments, and compliance activities relevant to BFSI environments.
Participate in incident management, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.
