- Review and analyze medical records, operative notes, and surgical reports related to surgical procedures.

- Assign accurate diagnostic and procedural codes, typically using the Current Procedural Terminology and International Classification of Diseases coding systems.

- Proficiency in CPT and ICD coding systems.

- Specialized knowledge of neurosurgery procedures, terminology, and anatomy.

- Understanding of healthcare compliance, regulations, and billing practices, particularly in the context of outpatient, Inpatient and Ambulatory surgical services.

- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.

- Candidate Must be certified in either AHIMA or AAPC.
