Job Description

The Nutanix Support Engineer keeps the platform healthy, available, and performing as workloads land on it. The role covers second- and third-line operational support for the Nutanix estate — cluster health monitoring, incident and problem resolution, VM and storage support, capacity and performance analysis, upgrade execution, and escalation management with Nutanix Support. During migration this role stabilizes newly landed workloads and absorbs the incident volume that follows each wave; in steady state it becomes the operational core of the engagement and the foundation of the managed services model that follows.

Platform Health and Monitoring

Monitor cluster health across Prism Element and Prism Central — node and disk status, CVM health, resiliency and rebuild state, storage container utilization, and replication factor compliance.
Run and interpret Nutanix Cluster Check (NCC) health checks on a defined cadence and after every change; triage findings, remediate what is actionable, and track the remainder to closure.




Own alert response and alert hygiene — tune thresholds, suppress noise, and ensure every alert that reaches an engineer is actionable and mapped to a documented response.
Maintain integration with the client's monitoring and ITSM tooling so that Nutanix events surface as tickets with correct priority, assignment, and enrichment.

Incident, Problem, and Request Management

Provide L2/L3 support for Nutanix incidents within agreed response and resolution targets, working within the client's ITIL-aligned incident, problem, and change processes.
Diagnose and resolve issues spanning compute, storage, and AHV networking — VM boot and performance problems, storage latency, CVM services, network connectivity and VLAN issues, and failed or hung operations.
Drive problem management on recurring incidents: root cause analysis, permanent fix or documented workaround, and knowledge article creation so the next occurrence is resolved
