Responsible for managing the overall Supply Chain Management activities of the Machine Shop, including material planning, purchase, vendor development, subcontracting, stores and inventory management. The role involves coordinating with Production, PPC, Quality and other departments to ensure timely availability of materials and smooth production flow. Responsible for supplier performance, QCD, cost reduction, inventory control, team management and on-time delivery while driving continuous improvement in SCM operations.

Job Description

Manage end-to-end Supply Chain Management activities for the Machine Shop.
Handle Purchase, Vendor Development, Subcontracting, Stores and Material Planning activities.
Ensure timely availability of raw materials, tools, consumables and other production requirements.
Develop and maintain suppliers; monitor quality, cost and delivery (QCD) performance.
Coordinate with Production, PPC, Quality, Purchase and Stores teams to meet production schedules.
Plan subcontracting activities such as CNC/VMC machining, grinding, heat treatment and other processes.




Monitor inventory levels and ensure optimum stock without excess or shortage.
Follow up on purchase orders, material deliveries and pending requirements.
Lead the SCM team and ensure smooth day-to-day material flow.
Prepare and monitor MIS, KPI and SCM performance reports.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve overall supply-chain efficiency.

Qualification

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering or related discipline
