About the Opportunity

Development Consortium (DC) is seeking an experienced and agile Senior Manager – Legal & Compliance to lead and strengthen the organization’s legal, governance, and compliance functions. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with the leadership team, providing strategic legal guidance, managing organizational risk, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting governance processes. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in safeguarding DC’s interests while enabling the organization to achieve its mission of creating meaningful social impact across India. Responsibilities

Line Management – Legal & Compliance Team

Support the Leadership team for any tasks and also be the backup on all Legal & Compliance matters.
Work closely with the Director of Finance and Partnerships.

Oversee the preparation and drafting of templates for contracts, MOUs, grant agreements, service orders, agreements, financial and non-financial agreements, vendor agreements etc., or bespoke agreements as and when needed based on the programme/project needs.
Review and improve the existing documents to ensure DC is fully compliant and in accordance with laws applicable to DC.
Conduct an internal review of the applicable laws to DC and work closely with the leadership team for any improvements to be made.
Give accurate and timely counsel to executives in a variety of legal topics (labor law, child policies, POSH, statutory laws, protection rights, etc.) and keep abreast with any changes and amendments that may impact DC and its programmes.
Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on possible legal issues and provide solutions in the interest of DC.
