Head of Fraud Prevention — Ride-Hailing
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Head of Fraud Prevention to build and lead the fraud risk function for a high-scale ride-hailing platform. You will be responsible for protecting passengers, drivers, merchants, and the company from fraud while maintaining a seamless customer experience.
The role covers the full fraud lifecycle—from fraud strategy and detection to investigation, prevention, and recovery—across payments, driver/passenger accounts, incentives, promotions, identity, trips, and marketplace abuse.
Key Responsibilities
Define and execute the company's fraud prevention and risk strategy across passengers, drivers, merchants, and payments.
Build a scalable fraud detection and prevention framework using rules, machine learning, behavioral analytics, device intelligence, and network analysis.
Identify and mitigate fraud schemes such as:
Account takeover and fake accounts
Payment and card fraud
Promo/referral/incentive abuse
Driver collusion and fake trips
GPS/location manipulation
Multiple-account abuse
Identity/KYC fraud
Chargebacks and friendly fraud
Fare manipulation and marketplace manipulation
Establish fraud risk scoring and decisioning across the customer journey, including registration, login, booking, trip, payment, payout, and withdrawal.
Lead the development of real-time fraud monitoring, alerting, and investigation capabilities.
Build and manage a team covering Fraud Strategy, Fraud Operations, Data Science/ML, Risk Analytics, and Investigations.
Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Payments, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Customer Operations, and Trust & Safety.
Develop fraud KPIs, dashboards, reporting, and executive-level risk reporting.
Establish fraud-loss forecasting, prevention targets, and ROI measurement.
Continuously investigate emerging fraud patterns and adapt controls accordingly.
Work with banks, payment processors, card networks, regulators, and external fraud
