Project Brief: Multiple long-term conditions (MLTCs), defined as the coexistence of two or more chronic conditions, is anincreasing public health concern in India. Physical activity can support the management of cardiometabolic MLTCs, but remains insufficiently integrated into routine primary healthcare.
The project, “Co-designing and Evaluating a Physical Activity Intervention for People Living with Cardiometabolic Multiple Long-Term Conditions in Primary Healthcare Settings,” aimsto develop, refine and evaluate a feasible physical activity intervention that can be integrated within primary healthcare services. The intervention is being developed using a co-design approach involving patients, healthcare providers and relevant experts, and will subsequently be implemented and evaluated in primary healthcare settings in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.The project is funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Global Health Research Centre (GHRC) for Multiple Long-term Conditions (MLTCs). The study is set within the public health system at Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India.
