About the Role
The Senior Manager – Parts Planning & Procurement will lead
end-to-end parts supply for in-house refurbishment operations and aftersales
requirements. The role involves, developing sourcing strategies for
multi-brand, multi-model parts, building supplier partnerships, and driving the
aftermarket business for DriveX-branded parts and supplies — with a strong
focus on operational excellence, cost optimization, and inventory planning. Business
horizon covers around maintaining 20K SKUs and serving more than 100 MMVs. This
position works closely with the Production Manager and Warehouse Manager to
align parts planning and procurement with operational needs.
Procurement & Supplier Development
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies
for multi-brand, multi-model automotive spare parts.
- Build and expand a strong supplier
ecosystem across OEM distributors, OES suppliers, and aftermarket vendors.
- Parts planning and order management to
meet production and aftersales parts requirements.
- Drive supplier performance reviews on
quality, cost, delivery, fill-rate, and service metrics.
- Identify alternate sourcing opportunities
to reduce dependency and optimize parts cost.
- Lead the parts development and sourcing
activities for DriveX branded parts with channel partner.
Parts Planning, Cataloguing & database
management
- Build demand forecasting models based on
sales trends, consumption, and refurbishment patterns to drive stocking
policies — reorder levels, safety stock, EOQ, and replenishment.
- Own and maintain the parts master
database across all brands, ensuring accurate part numbers, descriptions, upgrade
as per OEM changes, and MMV mapping.
- Maintain OEM references, OES information
and cross-reference data for accurate part identification.
- Establish and manage pricing and discount
structure for all parts procured from dealers and suppliers.
Parts Sales Support
- Ensure timely parts availability to
support retail sales, workshops, refurbishment centres, service operations
and post sales requirements.
- Analyse parts consumption to identify
opportunities for assortment expansion.
- Support revenue growth by improving
availability of quick-moving and critical spare parts. Creating a discount
structure for increase in parts sales revenue and profitability.
- Build a distribution network for the
DriveX range of aftermarket parts.
Process Excellence, Analytics &
Stakeholder Management
- Build scalable, repeatable procurement
and supplier development processes to support business growth.
- Develop executive dashboards tracking
procurement, supplier performance, inventory health, and key operational
KPIs.
- Track procurement savings, inventory
productivity, supplier scorecards, and service level performance.
- Collaborate closely with Operations,
Service, Sales, Finance, Product, Technology, and Logistics teams.
- Drive cross-functional projects that
improve customer experience and operational efficiency.
Requirements
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in
Mechanical/Automobile Engineering (mandatory).
Experience
- 12–15 years of progressive experience in
automotive parts procurement, inventory planning, supply chain, or
aftermarket operations.
- Minimum 4–5 years leading teams within
automotive spare parts or aftermarket businesses.
- Strong exposure to multi-brand spare
parts procurement and inventory management.
- Demonstrated experience in supplier
development, strategic sourcing, and demand planning.
- Proven track record leading
transformation, process improvement, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Experience with ERP platforms such as SAP
and data-driven inventory planning tools.
