Key Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Cost Estimation & Planning:
o Preparing cost estimates at every stage (preliminary to detailed).
o Budget forecasting and feasibility studies.
o Benchmarking with similar projects.
2. Tendering & Procurement:
o Preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
o Drafting tender documents.
o Evaluating contractor bids and recommending awards.
3. Contract Management:
o Drafting and administering contracts
o Managing variations and change orders.
o Ensuring compliance with contract terms.
4. Cost Control During Construction:
o Monitoring and controlling expenditures.
o Valuing work-in-progress and certifying payments.
o Identifying cost-saving opportunities.
5. Measurement & Valuation:
o Accurate measurement of quantities (earthwork, concrete, steel, etc.).
o Site measurement and verification.
6. Risk & Value Management:
o Assessing risks related to cost overruns and delays.
o Conducting value engineering to improve efficiency.
7. Final Account & Post-Contract Duties:
o Settlement of final accounts with contractors.
o Reporting on cost outcomes and project performance.
Requirements
Skills Required:
- Knowledge of construction technology and methods.
- Understanding of civil engineering materials and specifications.
- Proficiency in software like AutoCAD, MS Excel, CostX, and Primavera.
- Solid analytical and negotiation skills.
