Job Summary:
The Physiotherapist working under the Early Intervention Program
(EIP) will play a vital role in case review of children with developmental
delays, disabilities, or other health -related conditions. Supporting and
training the Early interventionist in service delivery and conducting capacity
building programs for parents. The goal
is to help improve physical function, mobility, and overall quality of life for
these children, while also supporting their families through education and
guidance.
Key
Responsibilities:
1. Assessment and Diagnosis:
- Assessment and service delivery of 30
children with developmental delays. Perform detailed assessments of
children’s physical abilities, including motor skills, muscle strength,
posture, and flexibility.
- Identify areas of concern related to
movement, mobility, and motor function.
- Develop individualized care plans based
on assessment results and collaborate with the team.
2. Case Review
· Conduct detailed case
reviews for 250 children, categorizing them according to the level of
developmental severity (mild, moderate, severe, profound).
· Develop individualized
goals for children with developmental delays based on standardized tools and
developmental checklists
· Coordinate with Early
Interventionist for the service delivery
3. Therapeutic Intervention
· Design and implement
early intervention physiotherapy programs tailored to the child's specific
needs.
· Use evidence -based
approaches to promote physical development, including exercises, stretches, and
play -based activities.
· Administer therapeutic
techniques to enhance gross motor skills, coordination, and balance.
4. Family Education and Support:
· Provide caregivers and
families with education on exercises and strategies to support the child’s
development at home.
· Offer guidance on
adaptive equipment or assistive devices to improve mobility and independence.
· Foster positive
relationships with families and address their concerns and goals for their
child’s progress.
5. Collaboration with
Multidisciplinary Team:
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary
team, including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and medical
professionals, to provide holistic care for the child.
- Monitoring the Early work deliverables
as per the monthly planner
- Participate in regular team meetings to
review the child’s progress and adjust intervention strategies as needed.
6. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and timely records of
all assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and communications with
families.
- Prepare reports and evaluations to track
each child's progress and adjust therapy programs accordingly.
7. Continuous Professional
Development:
- Stay updated on the latest research,
techniques,
and best practices in pediatric physiotherapy and early
intervention.
- Participate in ongoing training,
workshops, and professional development opportunities.
