Job Description
Our Client is seeking a highly organized and detail -driven Data Quality Associate to improve and maintain the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of the Institute’s alumni database. The role focuses on establishing data standards, driving governance practices, running data profiling and deduplication workflows, and ensuring high -quality “golden records” for all alumni. You will work closely with Alumni Relations, Advancement, and IT teams to streamline data intake, enrich incomplete profiles, enhance email/phone deliverability, and support targeted engagement and fundraising campaigns. The ideal candidate is hands -on with CRM systems, ETL tools, SQL, and data validation methods, with a working understanding of India’s DPDP Act. This position plays a pivotal role in enabling effective alumni engagement by ensuring access to clean, accurate, and campaign -ready data
Key Responsibilities
Data Standards & Governance
- Define and maintain the alumni data model, field standards, validation rules, and naming conventions.
- Own the data dictionary, SOPs, and data quality guidelines; publish monthly data quality dashboards.
- Ensure end -to -end compliance with the DPDP Act (2023) including consent, opt -outs, retention, and access logs.
Data Quality Control & Remediation
- Implement deduplication workflows (exact + fuzzy matching) and manage identity resolution.
- Standardize addresses (India Post format), phone numbers (E.164), and email formats.
- Reduce email bounces and improve deliverability using verification tools and re -permissioning workflows.
Data Enrichment & Sourcing
- Design workflows to fill data gaps through forms, surveys, events, and progressive profiling.
- Enrich records from approved data sources, APIs, and manual research.
- Run quarterly verification campaigns to maintain data freshness SLAs.
Tools, Integrations & Automation
- Operate and manage the alumni CRM platform (Salesforce NPSP / Zoho / Blackbaud / Almabase / Hivebrite).
- Build and maintain low -code ETL pipelines (Talend, Pentaho, Airbyte, Apps Script).
- Use SQL, Excel/Sheets, and Python (pandas) for profiling, cleansing, and data validation.
- Configure tools for email validation, phone lookups, geocoding, and record -linkage.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Support Communications teams with segmentation lists and run QA checks before campaign launches.
- Train staff on data entry standards and data hygiene best practices.
- Review new forms, integrations, and imports to ensure data quality is protected
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 1–3 years (Associate) / 4–8 years (Lead) in data quality, CRM operations, data stewardship, or database management.
- Robust proficiency in SQL and Advanced Excel/Google Sheets.
- Hands -on experience with CRM systems (Salesforce NPSP, Zoho, Blackbaud, Slate, Almabase, etc.).
- Working knowledge of India’s DPDP Act, privacy -by -design principles, and consent management.
- Experience with CSV pipelines, APIs, imports/exports, and ETL processes.
- Ability to build QA checks using SQL, Excel/Sheets formulas, and Python (pandas).
- Strong communication/documentation skills; ability to create SOPs and QA checklists.
