We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Consultant – Nuclear Medicine to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 7 years of hands-on experience in Nuclear Medicine and a strong clinical background in diagnostic imaging and therapy using radiopharmaceuticals. This is a critical role for delivering accurate diagnostic services and providing expert care to patients undergoing nuclear medicine procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct and interpret a wide range of nuclear medicine imaging procedures including PET/CT, SPECT, bone scans, myocardial perfusion scans, thyroid scans, and renal scans.
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients safely and monitor reactions to the administered dose.
- Collaborate with radiologists, oncologists, cardiologists, endocrinologists, and referring physicians to provide a comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic approach.
- Review patient history and clinical information to ensure appropriate diagnostic protocols and procedures are followed.
- Ensure radiation safety protocols and quality control measures are rigorously applied and maintained.
- Provide guidance to technologists and junior medical staff in nuclear medicine techniques and interpretation.
- Stay updated on technological advancements, current radiotracers, and best practices in nuclear medicine.
- Document and report findings accurately and timely using medical imaging software and hospital information systems.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and tumor boards.
- Contribute to clinical training programs, CME sessions, and academic presentations as required.
Skills and Qualifications:
- MBBS with an MD/DNB/DM in Nuclear Medicine from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration with the Medical Council of India or relevant state medical council.
- 2–7 years of post-qualification experience in Nuclear Medicine, preferably in a tertiary care or super-specialty hospital.
- Proficiency in handling nuclear medicine equipment and software such as PET/CT, SPECT, Gamma Camera, and PACS.
- Strong knowledge of radiopharmaceuticals, radiation safety, and imaging protocols.
- Excellent analytical, diagnostic, and interpretative skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to explain procedures and results to patients and families.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced clinical environment.
