About the Role: The ideal candidate will have strong creative skills and a portfolio of work that demonstrates their passion for illustrative design and typography. This candidate will have experience working with numerous design platforms, such as digital and print forms.

Responsibilities:

/n

Design and layout pages for the magazine and digital publications.

/n

Create visually compelling infographics, illustrations, and page designs.

/n

Work closely with editors, photographers and the digital team to produce high-quality editorial content.

/n

Ensure adherence to Sportstar's design standards, brand identity and production deadlines.

/n

Prepare print-ready files and coordinate with production teams when required.

/n

Qualifications:

/n

Minimum 5 years of experience in newspaper or magazine page design.

/n





Degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communication or a related field.

/n

Prior experience in editorial design and publication production is mandatory.

/n

Experience with sports publications will be an added advantage.

/n

Required Skills:

/n

Expert knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop.

/n

Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator is essential.

/n

Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat, colour management, typography, Image resolution, infographic skills and print production workflows.

/n

Basic understanding of digital design, social media creatives and motion graphics (Adobe After Effects/Premiere Pro) will be an added advantage.

/n

Strong sense of typography, composition, colour and visual storytelling.

/n

Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced newsroom workplace.

/n

Experience with sports publications will be an added advantage.
