Job Description: Geologist
Position: Geologist
Project: HEO 240 MW Hydro Electric Project
Location: Project Site, Arunachal Pradesh
Employment Type: Full time, Site-based
Experience Required: 7 to 10 years (Targeting ~7 years)
Qualification
M.Sc. in Geology (Mandatory requirement).
Strong theoretical and practical foundation in structural geology, lithostratigraphy, and field mapping techniques.
Experience Overview
Minimum 7 years of post-qualification field experience in geological mapping, surface and subsurface data collection, and geotechnical/rock mass assessments, preferably within large-scale infrastructure, mining, or hydropower projects in complex mountainous regions (such as the Himalayas).
Key Responsibilities
Field Mapping & Face Logging: Conduct rigorous surface and underground geological mapping (rock outcrops, quarry sites, tunnel faces, and dam foundations) and maintain accurate lithological and structural logs.
Structural & Rock Mass Analysis: Measure and analyze structural data (joints, faults, shear zones, dip/strike)
and evaluate rock mass quality using standard empirical rating systems to understand ground behavior.
Core Drilling & Logging: Oversee exploratory core drilling programs, perform detailed physical core logging, and systematically collect representative rock and soil samples for laboratory testing.
Geological Hazard Identification: Spot and evaluate potential geological risks early—such as weak zones, active fault lines, unpredicted seepage, or unstable slopes—and provide critical inputs to the project management team.
Data Correlation & Mapping: Correlate surface mapping data with subsurface drilling logs to update geological cross-sections and structural models.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive daily geological records, photographic logs, and technical reports for audits and client reviews.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with civil engineering and site execution teams, serving as the primary authority
